✨ Update: Reaching New Milestones Together ✨

Frabjous Family,

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve reached 97% of our immediate goal! This also means we’re at 17% of our long-term goal—the vision that will keep Frabjous Catfé thriving for years to come.

About the cats
We want our supporters to be aware that all cats who were at the Catfé during closing are safe in foster homes with our rescue partner. They continue to receive food, vet care, and love—some have even been adopted! Please note: donations to this GoFundMe support Frabjous Catfé’s business operations only, not our rescue partner’s work.

Looking ahead
In my last update on August 3rd, I shared a creative idea: the possibility of structuring part of Frabjous Catfé as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. This is still under careful consideration, as it will take time to evaluate fully.

✨ Update: Fighting for Frabjous Catfé ✨

Dear Frabjous Family,

We wanted to share an important update with you. On Friday, we reached out to our property manager with a proposal to request the opportunity to stay in our current space for another year as we have a new contact from whom we were previously working with.
In our proposal, we shared just how much this commitment and space means—not only to us, but to the cats who find safety here and to the community that has grown around this magical little slice of Wake Forest as a place of comfort.
We even presented a creative idea: the possibility of structuring part of our lease as a charitable donation. This could benefit the property owners through a tax write-off, while helping us continue to carry out our mission—a true win-win for everyone.
Now, we wait and hope. We’ve made our case, and we’ll keep you updated as soon as we know more. In the meantime, your incredible generosity and support mean the world to us. Important Message to Our Supporters

This message is incredibly difficult to write, and I know it may come as a surprise. My heart is heavy as I share this news with you.

Two years ago, we opened Frabjous Catfé with a dream — to be Wake Forest’s cozy, whimsical cat café, and to set out to bring more visibility to cats in need, offer an intimate space for connection and healing, increase adoptions, and help reduce the heartbreakingly high euthanasia rates of cats in our community.

Frabjous has been a true labor of love — a place where magic, rescue, and community came together. With the support of our incredible staff, rescue partner, volunteers, and each of you, nearly 100 cats found safe, loving forever homes. That is something we will always treasure.

We’ve weathered military deployments, delays in opening, unexpected health challenges, rising costs, and countless uncertainties. And through it all, we stayed committed to the cats with fundraisers, events and ways to try and continue bringing in revenue to sustain our safe haven. Even with our hardest efforts, it’s with deep sadness that I share this: Frabjous Catfé will close its doors, with this Monday as our last day open to the public. Our lease has come to an end, and despite every effort, we’ve been unable to reach a new agreement with our property manager that is financially viable.

I can’t begin to express how much I’ll miss seeing all of you — our regulars, our café family, and the incredible humans who adopted from us and gave our cats their forever homes. You are the heart of Frabjous. You are heroes.

We still have a loving group of adoptable cats in our care, and our greatest hope is to find them all homes. Please stop by in these final days — enjoy a Calico Cold Brew or a cupcake, redeem any outstanding gift cards, say goodbye, and maybe meet your next furry companion.

Our Whisker Watch pet sitting and dog walking services will continue as planned, and we’ll issue refunds for any Cheshire Lounge reservations scheduled beyond our closing date.

Thank you for every visit, every kind word, every adoption, and every purr-filled moment. You helped make this dream real. 💛
