Baby girl put in work! Slowly but surely I'm shaking off the last 2 (ok, 3) years. Last weekend, we ran away from home for the day with the eldest mabcub to the to try our paws at a new sport.

Ygritte hopped in the dogmobile a complete novice to the sport. She's really never even encountered much in the way of backpressure. The good news is that means I'm not trying to untrain anything regarding pulling. The challenge instead was conveying just what I was asking her to do.

Under the super experienced and indispensable guidance of Mrs. Sami, we started off with a sled and light weight before advancing to our first "heavy" cart pull. You can see how little effort it took her to move this 1000 lb cart once she understood what I wanted! At 2510 lbs we decided to stop on a good note above and beyond anything I dared hope for!

The handler I was a few years ago would have tackled ALL the things at this event, but today's handler is accepting limits. So, instead of a full week of rally, obedience, barn hunt, dock diving and conformation with multiple dogs, we focused on one dog, one day, one event. Someday, I'm sure we'll get back to competing hard, but for now, we thrive in these little moments and I couldn't be more proud of my little baby girl! 🥰

We're blessed to have gorgeous girls with spectacular temperaments who adore eachother and coexist well with our livestock and their guardians! They're definitely the embodiment of the quintessential estate guardian!

We've been quiet, but it's definitely not quiet around here!

Our boys have launched their Grand Champion journey and earned their first AKC GCH points. Drago is off to a roaring start, and I could not be more proud of this duo and their conquests. Just look at this gorgeous team! 🥰😍🥰Absolute poetry! I can't wait to see them out and about this weekend, but in the meantime, check out these beautiful ringside images captured by last weekend!

Over the years, my dogs have brought an array of amazing people into my life. This beautiful soul and I followed eachother's kennels for quite some time before life brought us together and through our friendship, our dogs, and love for our kiddos we became chosen family. On January 4th, she and her partner were injured in a serious car wreck. It took 3 days before the tiny hospital the responders were able to transport them to could transfer her to a trauma center, and she was flown to Kansas City for emergency neurosurgery for her broken neck.

Our love of dogs brought us together, and it is my hope that our love of dogs shared with our community can help to support this devoted mom, dogwoman, advocate, and friend and her family during this daunting journey. Deb, I've no doubt we will back in the ring in due time.

If I had to choose a single photo to sum it up for me, it has to be this one. This is what it's all about. The ribbons, the titles, the drive, and the work ethic of these dogs will always make me pause and marvel. But this...

The treasure that is a driven working dog in "family mode" is indescribable. This is what I strive to carry forward in my lines- will this dog work for me? Yes. Will she protect? Also yes. Is she still safe, sane and stable enough to take out in public with "her" baby and still allow respectful strangers to come pet her on our terms? Absolutely. And having a dog stable enough to do all those things without a second thought is invaluable to me as a mom and as a breed enthusiast.

Yes, we're quiet. Lots is happening behind the scenes for our family and our kennel and unfortunately that means shows and sports are fewer and further between for us. We took a little time out to make an appearance in Enid this month and Talon made it worth our while earing her first champion points after having the last 19 months off while I showed other dogs and upped our household headcount 😅 This girl has shown herself to be rocksteady and unflappable no matter what I throw at her, and I'm excited to get to work with her more! Two years ago today, I got the call that this girl had made it through the night and could come home. We now know she suffered a rattlesnake bite just above her shoulder blades. Until last month, we had never seen a venomous snake here, though we knew they were around. Her recovery took months through which we monitored labs and slowly rebuilt her strength now, you'd never know it happened except for a few odd hairs where she was bitten.

In the coming weeks, we'll be reintroducing ourselves and dogs. Stay tuned to meet "the girl who lived!

I absolutely love watching the puppies I delivered into this world grow and thrive! Once in a while, the accomplishment comes from my own hands.

This sweet boy has been shown exclusively in AKC's Bred by Exhibitor class and on July 20, he earned his final point for his champion title followed by his first grand champion point the next day! To add an extra layer of special, Barkus earned these points at the St. Joe Kennel Club show which is where I attended my very first show as an Exhibitor with his mother. He accomplished this with limited showing, and I look forward to many more exciting accomplishments with this guy.

Like his brother, I am blessed to share this special boy with his family. My co-own families have been absolutely invaluable in their efforts with their dogs!

Although still pending AKC validation, it is my pleasure to introduce to the fancy CH Overwatch's My Brother's Keeper ATT.

Very late post, but no less proud...

On June 26, this dynamic duo became the first Overwatch bred AKC champions. Hot on his mama's heels, Show Drago has emerged and we couldn't be more proud! At 22 months old, this guy still has more growing and maturing ahead of him, but he's already made tremendous strides both in and out of the breed ring. It's been an absolute honor to watch this pair learn the ropes of showing and earn a broad variety of titles while showcasing their amazing bond.

And. They're. Still. Going.

Great co-owners are such a blessing and this guy's accomplishments are a testament to his human's dedication. Drago definitely would not be where he is if not for Bri!

We're easing back into events with our dogs as we navigate our new normal. Today Jinx rocked a couple more legs toward his DCAT at Lawrence Jayhawk Kennel Club's FASTCAT event while our tiny tot made his second trial debut as Co handler to the crazy shepherd.
