Well, this is a first for us. Usually we're rescuing German Shepherd dogs, but today, this beautiful parrot showed up at our place. Turns out, he belongs to our neighbor, but we haven't been able to corral him. If you see him, please ping me so we can get him back home to his mate. His name is Reddy. Location last seen: Puhawai Road in Waianae on Tuesday evening, 10/28/25. Mahalo for sharing.

Hello world, this is Draco, an almost-2-year-old German Shepherd.. He has cryptorchidism (testicles have not descended into the sc***um), so has not been neutered. He is a loving boy to his people but is aggressive towards other dogs and to people who he hasn’t been introduced to. He needs to be in a family where he can be an ONLY child. He is crate and house-trained and knows all basic commands. Really a good boy for the right family but needs one that has experience with German Shepherds and can provide him with proper care and training. This is unbelievably appalling. A police K9 died Sept. 4 from being left alone in a vehicle????!!! There must be transparency in the investigation and full accountability. This canine officer deserved so much better.

The Hawaii Police Department said one of its K-9s has died after he was left in a police vehicle in West Hawaii for an “unacceptable amount of time.”

It's our lucky day... we received pics of two of our adopted rescues today. The first was of Valkyrie, and this is Maui-Boy -- the Lahaina wildfire survivor who bunked with us for a year before being reunited with his family. These days, he spends his time chilling with his sidekick and bestie, Pixie! Love ya, Maui-Boy. 🐾❤️🐾❤️

Nothing makes our day quite as much as getting pictures of our rescued GSDs who have been adopted. These forever families are incredible in the many ways they step up and stand up to help these amazing dogs. We were thrilled to get this photo of Valkyrie today. She was adopted 3 weeks ago and is in training to become a service dog for her disabled veteran human. Good job, Val. You go ahead and take a well-deserved nap after a hard day of training. Love you beautiful girl. Tell your new mom and dad thank you for sending the pic. ❤️🐾❤️🐾

So, today was the day. Valkyrie got her forever family and will start her career as a service dog. Bittersweet for us, but we are so happy for her and her humans. Love ya, Val!❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾

It's always bittersweet when one of our rescues gets adopted and goes to their forever family, but this one is especially poignant for us. While we are thrilled that Valkyrie will have her very own home and will be embarking on her career as a service dog, we sure will miss her sweet disposition and her kisses -- which she gives so generously! 🥰🐾❤️

FOUND 08/05/25 - Lost or abandoned older Pit mix female. Lualualei Homestead Rd. And Kuwale Rd. In Waianae. Very sweet and gentle. She looks to be in relatively good condition, but is clearly looking for her family. No chip. Secured for tonight, but if not claimed, will be at HHS tomorrow. Proof of ownership required.

Thank you for abandoning him...
We found him there, tied up and with tears in his eyes.
Alone, scared, abandoned by those who were supposed to love him.
Today, after a visit to the vet, we are finally on the way home.
His home. Ours.
That heartbreaking crying will be the last.
Because from now on, he will only receive gentle touches, presence, warmth.
We will give him everything he was missing: attention, respect, true love.
He will no longer tremble waiting for someone.
He will no longer feel the coldness of indifference.
He will never be alone again.
Today he joined our family.
And from this moment on, we will do everything to make him feel that here, with us, he is finally where he belongs.
You chose to leave him behind.
We chose to never leave him again.
Because every living being deserves a heart that never abandons them. ❤️🐾
