Attention friends & clients:

I will be moving to California mid-July. This means I will of course, no longer be servicing the area.

I want to thank each and every one of you for trusting me with your equine companions and their hoof care. I appreciate each relationship I have established with all of y’all.

I have reached out to an old friend of mine who has been around horses for quite some time, and is in the process of finishing up farrier school.

I encourage all of my clients to reach out to Dillon Woodyard with Woodyard’s Shoeing Service , you can message his page or give him a call/text at 251-593-7081!

Thanks again for the incredible support of my business and entrusting me with your four-legged pals! I appreciate all of y’all!

HSR Farrier Services is now opening books to service Baldwin & Escambia Counties!

I have recently relocated to the area and would love the opportunity to build my clientele in my new hometown.

I am a 2018 graduate of the Oklahoma Horseshoeing School, and worked under a farrier for a couple of years prior to attending the school. I have been actively trimming & shoeing since my graduation.

I have worked in partnership with vets, and am no stranger to difficult or challenging hoof-related issues. I also have a feature in the February/March issue of the Farmers Cooperative Magazine for my trade.

With proper education and real world experience, I would love the opportunity to become a part of your four-legged partners hoof care.

Please reach out to me by either a call or a text at 251-622-1139 to discuss scheduling!

Hey y’all-

I just wanted to take a moment to touch base with everyone since I have received an influx of calls.

I am currently out of commission, and will be for quite some time.

I have a personal horse that I am having some soundness issues with (nothing hoof related). It is taking up a lot of my time to ensure that she is properly cared for to set her up for the best future possible. I’ve spent too much money on this horse to not do right by her.

My horses come before anyone else’s. They rely on me daily to make sure they are properly cared for, and I will not think twice before putting them ahead.

I do appreciate those of you who continue to recommend me. I do not like having to turn clients away. But in a situation like this, my personal horse is my top priority. I do hope that y’all understand that.

I am not sure when I will be able to pick back up with this business. I know it will be another one to two months minimum before I even think about taking on clients again, but it could be longer depending on this situation.

I appreciate all of you who have supported this business. It’s been an absolute pleasure to meet each and every one of y’all, and those wonderful four legged companions.

I do have recommendations to other farriers, and will be more than happy to get them to you via PM, should you need them.

Thanks again, and I hope y’all understand where I’m coming from!

Happy Trails,
Madalyn

I have a sweet horse on my route that had gotten a pretty nasty case of thrush. It ate down pretty deep, and we decided to pack his feet to help get rid of the thrush that was deep in his commissures.

The pack helped a lot! We now have him on a steady Koppertox routine to keep the thrush at bay, and his feet are looking wonderful! Thrush almost completely gone.

Remember, key tips to helping alleviate thrush:
• Pick their feet regularly! Getting all that built up gunk out of their feet will help tremendously.
• Use a thrush treating substance once to twice a week! This will keep it at bay and keep it from continuously eating down the foot.
• Call your Farrier if it keeps getting worse! Your farrier should have a few remedies to help get rid of thrush. If you suspect what you’re doing isn’t working or it’s still getting worse, go ahead and give your farrier a call.

Most of my clients are in southern Alabama, so it stays pretty wet. We’ve got a lot of swampy spots. Thrush loves moisture, but it’s easy to stay on top of if you follow those tips!
