Because many are asking: my horses have haynets packed with alfalfa and are currently contently munching away. If they choose to move their feet and toss their butts to the wind and rain they will. As for my pups and I, we are bunking up in the living room which is free from large trees should they come down. Totally appreciate all the texts and calls offering help and expressing concern, my heart is filled with gratitude. As a born and bred Buffalo, NY girl rest assured I’ve got it handled as best I can! 💜🌀🙏🏽

Howdy everyone,

Thanks for stopping by my page dedicated to improving relationships between horses and their people.

I am awful at staying social on social media... there I said it! However, it occurred to me that this small town I love and live in may have heard of my accident as well. It happened damn near a year ago, 2/14/23. In short I was thrown. Like a really high toss. I ended up with a TBI (traumatic brain injury) that required surgery to stop the bleeding of my brain.

Gratefully I am fine!!! I had so much love and support during a fairly challenging time in my life. I simply wanted those that "may have heard..." to KNOW I AM BACK IN THE SADDLE! I have learned so much from that event that is thankfully behind me!

We are all trying to get along. Or we ought to be...That’s the name of the game. It is in the way in which we present our offerings that matter. Are we in the right space, are we hurried? Do we have the knowledge to communicate effectively with our horse so that they are able to do what we are asking of them? Perhaps most important are both horse and human enjoying the task at hand? You see the horse always knows our intentions. You simply can’t pretend to be something or someone your not, least not to the horse. They know who we are, they always know. Something to chew on...

Often times during storms or especially the onset of the storm when things are really rumbling and we scurry to pull our herd up out of harms way. Namely lightning. Some of you may have a touchy horse. You know the sensitive sort. Put that type in a box stall and dust will fly. Instead, open the door to the stall and simply allow the horse to choose. My horse stood here quietly for half hour or so while the skies spoke. Rather loudly I might add! Then he decided to head in for some alfalfa and a fan. No sooner as he walked into his stall the rain came- in buckets. No worries. No dust. No big deal....they know what they need. We could learn a lot from them, we just need to “listen” with every part of our being. ♥️

That first lesson... goes way back for me albeit feels like yesterday in many ways. Forever searching for a better understanding of horses, horsemanship and how things can be mutually the best that they can be. You see it’s all about “connection”. To me asking with the slightest touch, offering the softest feel and seeing and feeling the horse respond...that is connection. When our thoughts melt into one, when ego leaves the body and reason and feel take over. Yes my friends that is what everyone should start out learning...💜
