We've had some clients asking about the risk of their cat contracting Avian influenza. Here is the most up to date information on where cases have been documented and risk factors. Currently there have been no documented cases in our area. Main risk factors appear to be cats that go outdoors and those consuming raw fed diets. If you have questions about this information, please contact our office at 757-420-2277.

To help better understand the situation at hand, Meowtel used data from the Department of Agriculture to explore the risk of bird flu in cats.

If your pet(s) needs medication for noise anxiety around the July 4th holiday, please call or text our office at 757-420-2277 to request those as soon as possible. Our office will be closed from June 29th through July 7th and we want to make sure all of our patients and clients are calm and able to enjoy the celebration.

We have been renovating a building that will eventually be our new home and have been waiting for just the right moment to make an announcement. We don't have an official opening date yet but hopefully by the end of the year. The floor plan is twice the size of our current space and we couldn't be more excited 🤩 We will continue to update you as our move-in date approaches.

Join us in congratulating our veterinary assistant, Connor, on his acceptance into veterinary school. Connor will be attending the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in the fall.
