⭐️ This week we are highlighting Kori Johnson! Kori is a new member of our show team and has been with us for about a year! ⭐️

Kori’s love for horses began at a very young age, but it truly blossomed after attending Mrs. Carrie’s horse camp last summer. From that moment on, she was hooked and has been riding ever since. Kori likes how Mrs. Carrie challenges her to reach her full potential while also helping calm her nerves before a show, which is especially important for any rider in their first show season! 🥇🐎

Kori also treasures the friendships she’s made at the barn and feels incredibly fortunate to be part of such a supportive and close-knit Barn Family. 💚

Kori loves to draw and had her art featured on the cover of a book about kindness! 🎨

A special post for our Barn Family, thank you for supporting your riders and this barn with everything you have! Everything we have done would mean nothing without all of you by our side the whole way. This weekend was a product of and a testament to the love that we share and the team we truly are. No one else we’d rather do it all with!!! 🩵

This week we are so happy to feature one of our favorite horsey moms, Melissa Jensen! Romeo’s girl is one of the most consistent faces at the barn and is always up for a chat! ☀️🐎

She has been riding since 2016, and friends with Carrie since 2018! While life has gotten in the way over the years, her goal is to improve herself as a rider in the hunter circuit for now, and hopefully work into jumper shows, and maybe dabble in other disciplines like dressage and cross country!

As a former animal control officer, Melissa has extensive experience handling all animals big and small, domestic, feral, and wild! Although she unfortunately had to make the hard decision to leave her ACO job, she’s so happy working as assistant at an emergency vet making friends with all of her clients especially the giant big headed dogs!) 🦊🐶

You can often find her fiancé Jake tagging along to the barn, and loving on Romeo 🩵 Jake has experience owning and riding horses too, and they both have an affinity for large drafty crosses, mules, and donkeys! Next time you see Melissa or Jake be sure to ask about her adventures as an ACO or about her love for animals of all shapes and sizes!
