Good morning, everyone! We're thrilled to have you join us for the show tomorrow. To ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently, we have some important announcements:
1. Parking Instructions:
-All vehicles are required to park in the field marked with the Sterling Meadows sign, located by the house.
-Trailers should proceed past the hay and feed barn, recognizable by the horse mural, and park around the pond, behind the barn, or on the side of the field by the judges' stand. Smaller trailers should park in the field with double gates, clearly marked by a sign.
-If you're just dropping off horses, please park in front of the barn for unloading, then promptly move your vehicle to the field.
-For those needing accessibility accommodations, drop-offs can occur at the front of the barn. However, all vehicles must subsequently be relocated to the designated field due to limited parking availability in front of the barn.
2. Opening Times: The fields, arena, and stalls will open promptly at 6 a.m. Please
ensure you arrive on time to facilitate an efficient setup.
3. Schooling Breaks: Schooling breaks are limited to 20 minutes for safety and efficiency. We will monitor and limit the number of riders in the arena as necessary. If additional time is required, trainers must consult with Carrie Ellis to make arrangements. With this being said, please make sure your horse is properly warmed up before going in to school the course. Both indoor and field will be opened to flat before schooling and showing. For Saturday’s final schooling break, note that all 2’ schooling will occur first, followed by 2’6”.
4. Order of Jump Heights: The Open Equitation over fences will begin with heights of 2'6" and then proceed to 2'. The Schooling Hunter category will start at 2' and transition to 2'6". Special Hunter begins at 2'6" and then moves to 2'. Please check in with the Ringside coordinator at the end gate to ensure you are placed in the appropriate rotation. Those failing to check in will be placed at the end of the rotation.
5. Weather Conditions: Light rain is expected. The forecast becomes less predictable later in the day, but we anticipate Saturday will proceed without issue. If necessary, events will be rescheduled for Sunday. We commit to running the schedule swiftly and efficiently to accommodate any weather changes.
6. Restroom Facilities: Port-a-potties are conveniently located near the vehicle parking field for your use.
7. Comfort Arrangements: Water coolers will be situated at the gate, announcer’s stand, and secretary’s area. Please bring additional water as supplies are limited. For tent setup, please visit the raffle table for guidance on appropriate locations. We advise bringing a rain jacket or poncho instead of an umbrella, as umbrellas can be unsettling for some horses.
8. On-Site Services: We will have both a farrier and a photographer available on site.
9. Sterling Meadows Facility: Please note that the Sterling Meadows facility will open early. Feel free to stop by if you require anything.
10.Prizes: Champion and Reserve Champion for all division and First and Second place for “classes only” will have prizes at the announcer stand. Please only take one. All participants showing at the horse show will be able to select a prize when they check in with the secretary. If you are showing both days, you can only select one prize altogether. We will be doing Best Turned Out and High Point rider each day, that prize will be given at the end of the day.
Thank you for your attention to these details and your participation in the event. We look forward to a successful show.
