Meet General! 🐾

This 1-year-old cutie may be small at only 25 pounds, but he’s full of love and fun! General is heartworm negative, great with other dogs, and absolutely adores people. ❤️

He’s still got that puppy energy, so he’d be a great match for a playful doggy friend who also loves to romp and run. After playtime, though, he’s all about snuggles and staying close to his person.

After 109 days in our care – making her our longest feline resident – sweet Blossom has officially been adopted! 🐾 Our staff couldn’t be happier to see her head off to start her brand-new life filled with love, snuggles, and plenty of sunny window naps.

This sweet boy was found by a Good Samaritan near Angela and Dauphine and brought to the shelter for safekeeping. He is neutered, but unfortunately has no microchip or tags on his collar.

He's clearly someone's beloved pet, and we're hoping to reunite him with his family as soon as possible. If you recognize him or know who he belongs to, please contact the shelter!

🎉 After exactly 6 months at the shelter… Jefferson has been ADOPTED! 🐾🏡💙

Jefferson’s new mom saw his adoption photos online and instantly fell in love — and we can’t blame her! This sweet, goofy, lovable boy has waited so patiently for his perfect match, and today his dreams came true.

The shelter staff are over the moon to see Jefferson heading off to his forever home. He stole all our hearts, and while we’ll miss him dearly, we couldn’t be happier that he finally gets the love and life he deserves. 💕

🐾 Meet Lady – Our Squatty Sweetheart! 🐾

This stunning girl is Lady, a 2-year-old bully breed beauty with a low-rider body and the most incredible eyes you’ve ever seen. Her unique coat is a soft tan with a gorgeous blue hue that makes her stand out in all the best ways.

Lady has been with us for almost 4 months, and we can’t believe this gentle, loving girl hasn’t found her forever home yet! She was picked up as a stray by our Animal Control Officer while strolling the streets of Chalmette, and she’s been patiently waiting ever since.

These two sweet dogs were brought into the shelter over the weekend. 🐶💔 They were found separately and are now safe with us, but we know they’re missing their families.

Both pups are incredibly sweet and well-behaved — someone has to be missing them! If you recognize them or know someone missing their dog, please contact us ASAP.
