Stay cool today pups!

SUNDAY STEAMER - it’s going to be WARM out there guys.

Very humid through the afternoon and evening hours too.

Our heat index will inflate because of this leading to values in the mid to upper 90’s, probably a few 100’s too. 🫠

I’m sure we’ll have some afternoon/evening storms like yesterday as well.

Those heat of the day storms are nearly impossible to predict beforehand, so please use caution if you hear thunder near your location.

A caring citizen out in the Arkavalley area near greenbrier found this beautiful dog roaming near the road. She had opened her home as a foster and hopes that our Faulkner County Animal Shelter can help locate the owner.

We’ve been grateful to see so many adoptions recently, but unfortunately they haven’t been enough to keep pace with the number of emergency cases coming into our care. We’ve also reached out to rescue partners for help with some of our animals, but many are at capacity or unable to take on long-term care cases.

We have done everything possible to avoid euthanasia. However, after taking in five dogs within the last 24 hours, we are faced with incredibly difficult decisions.

We currently have many loving, playful, and people-oriented dogs who deserve the chance to find a home. If you or someone you know is looking for a new companion—or would be willing to foster while we continue exploring other options—please reach out to us:

We are open today from 10 AM to 6 PM and welcome visitors. We also offer meet-and-greets for families with existing pets to help ensure a good match.

Adoption Fees:
Cats/Kittens: $50
Dogs/Puppies: $70

All adoptions include:

What a beautiful Easter Sunday! Its always heartbreaking to find one of your drop in babies preparing to pass over the rainbow bridge. Brave has always been a favorite visit. She was enjoying the sunshine this morning 🥰

Watch your pup's feet in this snow! All three boys have sore, red skin between their toes from playing so hard. I literally have to make them come inside; they'll play out there till they bleed. 🐾
