Thank you for your interest in Maefield Farm. We are a sport horse breeding farm located 45 mi. southwest of Saint Louis MO. Mares from top warmblood pedigrees are the foundation of our breeding program. We select stallions with proven performance and offspring that complement each mare’s conformation, character, and athletic ability. We also breed hunter ponies based on the Caspian Horse, a rare and athletic breed with an ancient history. We take pride in the high level of care given to our mares and young stock, including the gradual starting methods and consistent handling of youngsters to produce calm and willing performance horses and ponies. Our goal is to provide top quality mounts with the mind and athletic ability to achieve your dreams.
Co-owners Mary and Tom Ellenberger met in veterinary school and worked in academia before realizing their long term dream of operating a horse breeding farm beginning in 2008. They are involved in all aspects of the care and upbringing of Maefield’s horses and ponies, in partnership with a team of professional horse trainers and equine veterinarians. We have foals and young stock started under saddle for sale, and experienced hunter ponies for sale or lease.
