Gorgeous Lady Gray is a little bit shy at first but she blossoms into a silly, super playful velcro kitty. She loves being around other cats and would thrive in a home with some fur siblings.

Lady Gray currently has a small issue with ocular entropion, but it will not be a long term problem, and will not require specialized care.

Whitty, aka, Pigeon, is one of our Kuwaiti imports. He’s an unreasonably beautiful cat with gorgeous blue eyes and snow white fur. He is a feisty kitty with a ton of personality and lots of love and affection to give. He loves being held like a baby and carried around. He will happily pause his playtime and come over to his human for pets and cuddles. 🥰

With that said: Whitty is a project. He is a super vocal cat. Unfortunately, it appears that before he was unceremoniously dumped on the street, his previous owners indulged, rather than corrected his bad habits. As a result, he tends to yowl to get attention, he is a drive-by biter and he cannot safely be around other cats. The upside to all of this is that his foster has been working on correcting his behavior and all signs point to a very intelligent, loving cat who learns quickly and aims to please.

Whitty is adoptable but he must be an only cat, and he cannot be around children or dogs. He must go to a home with an experienced owner who is committed to continuing his training and giving him lots of patience and support. Trust us, he’s worth it.

Panther is just wonderful. He was found abandoned on the side of the road in a box by a friend of the rescue 🥺

Having been his foster for the past few weeks I can say that I am head over heels for him. He is exceptionally well behaved, friendly, affectionate and silly. He does fantastic with other cats and has a patient, calm demeanor. One of the best things about Panther is how vocal he is. His trills and meows are adorable and entertaining. He loves engaging with people. Whatever happened that caused his previous family to do what they did, he was obviously loved at some point and learned how to love in return. ❤️

Oh, Maximus! This kitty is a trip! 🤣🤣

Maximus came to us from Kuwait and, frankly, stole our hearts. He is a friendly, super energetic little guy. He loves playing with anyone who can keep up and is also sweet and affectionate. He is the total package! ❤️

Maximus would do well in a home with children who will help expend some energy. He does well with other cats, but may be too active for an older kitty.

Quick update on our sweet Tesla girl: she is home with her wonderful foster resting comfortably. Her blood cell count and appetite is up and stable after her transfusion. 👏👏👏

We’re not out of the woods yet, but we are confident that our girl is getting the most loving care possible and a fighting chance. We are so grateful to our vets, volunteers, and of course, Tesla foster mama, Melissa, for selflessly working so hard to take care of her. ❤️❤️

Tesla has been in the emergency veterinary clinic today due to severe anemia from an autoimmune disease. She is receiving a blood transfusion and will stay in the clinic overnight for observation.

Liza is a sweet, slightly shy, little lap cat. In fact, as I write this caption she is sitting in my lap happily grooming herself. 🥰

If you are looking for a gentle natured, velcro-lap cat, Liza is your girl! As a Siamese cat she is a little bit more vocal, but not overly talkative. She loves to play and does great with other cats. She will be best in a quieter home with older children (8 and older). She may be fine with well behaved dogs but will need a slow, monitored introduction.

Our senior girl Tesla (names can always be changed 😄) is sweet and calm and looking for a new start. She is slightly vision impaired but you would never know it. Despite her impairment, she has a clean bill of health, a great prognosis, and a lot of life left. Winston is a sweet little guy with lots of love and personality!

This young pup is doing great work with his awesome foster learning about life as an indoor pup. He is still potty training and will need an adopter who will continue working with him to get into the routine. He would do best in a home with another dog so he can learn by example. As he is also still young and active it is crucial that he gets lots of playtime as well

Here at ACADFR we like to learn and share what we know. Today we would like to talk about knees- particularly kneecaps 🦵🏻🦿and what better model than gorgeous, thriving Sparkles?! ✨ Sparkles has a condition known as bilateral medial patellar luxations. It’s not uncommon in cats and dogs. In English it essentially means that her kneecaps slip out of the groove that usually holds them in place. It can affect any breed but Abyssinian cats and Devon Rex’s are known to have a genetic predisposition. There are 4 grades of severity. Corrective surgery can be done depending on a number of factors including the level of severity. For more information about this condition, check out the link in our stories 👍🏻 Sparkles ✨ has grade 4 patellar luxations, which is the most severe. We have had her evaluated by our veterinarian and have found that Sparkles was born with the condition and she is not a good candidate for surgery. What this means is that Sparkles has a permanent, adorable bow-legged walk/bunny hop and her kneecaps are permanently out of place. She does have some limited range of motion but she is not in any pain and, as you can see in the video, she is happy and otherwise very healthy. We love our Sparkle girl and we know her forever family is out there. Unfortunately, pets like her who aren’t considered ‘normal’ are often overlooked by adopters.
