Did you know that chickens have a particular call after laying an egg? Maybe chicken keepers affectionately refer to it as an “egg tune” or “egg song.”

“Chickens yell, or sing the “egg song,” after laying to announce their achievement, signal safety to the flock, and guide the rooster back to them. This loud, cackling noise (often lasting 1–10 minutes) can also serve to distract potential predators away from the vulnerable egg and towards the hen.” (Backyard Chickens)

All of your generous donations will go directly towards Ivy’s care, to include but not limited to: flea medication, ear infection medication, grooming for dry skin and fleas (flea bath/oatmeal bath), and high fat and calorie food to get her back up to an appropriate weight. We also had no idea she had fleas when we took her in, so we are fighting the clock on a full blown house infestation by having to treat 3 dogs and 2 cats. Thank you for your generosity! ☀️ 💕

Without a microchip:
- Dogs have a 22% chance of being found.
- Cats have a 2% chance of being found.

With a microchip:
- Dogs have a 52% chance of being found.
- Cats have a 38% chance of being found.

EMERGENCY FOSTER/RESCUE/ADOPTION

These sweet angels, Pepper, Charli, and Whiskey are desperately looking for a foster or new homes.

Pepper is a German shepherd lab mix. She was born 2/14/2023, making her nearly 2. She’s a TOTAL sweetheart. She loves to pick up her leash and carry it around when it’s walk time!

Charli is a mini-Doberman German shepherd mix. She was born 7/2/2022, making her 2.5. She’s is an absolute baby and loves to stay right by your side and be cuddled.

Whiskey is a sweet wire-haired Jack Russel terrier. He was born 12/15/2015, making him 9 years old. He’s a couch potato that loves to be held, but be careful because he’s a very sensitive and fragile old man.

They all know sit, come, and outside. They are fully vaccinated and up to date on their shots.

Pepper is microchipped, but Whiskey and Charli are not. We will provide free microchips for adopters.

Adoption fee is 30 each. 0 for fosters if you can provide adequate foster history or certifications (to ensure safety of animals.)

You think you want a bunny? All of this is hair and carpet debris from this tiny section under the couch. The vacuum was completely empty when I started, and I still need to empty it, finish another couple feet, and go over it a second time. Plus, that carpet damage though. 😅🥴

Our rescue Sun Village Animal Rescue acquired this beautiful girl on January 13th, 2024. We believe she is about 2-3. She is not spayed, and we are working towards getting her spayed. Currently in heat since the 19th. At this time, our rescue is struggling with funding during our renovations.

She is available for adoption at this time, but you must schedule her for a spay appointment to lock in your adoption. We will consider her “adoption fee” to simply be her spay surgery. We will not require any additional proceeds to go to our rescue/her adoption.

She is extremely quiet for a Great Pyrenees. She rarely fusses, only alerts when people walk in front of the house, and will stop when I quietly say "okay that's enough." Afterwards, she is very happy for performing her natural job. She has stopped people from stealing from our mailbox! She would love living somewhere she can roam, but seems to be perfectly happy somewhere smaller with a decent yard.

She chases cats but will not attack. She has not been trained with critters, and would need an experiencwd trainer if you ever hoped she could guard livestock. She LOVES cuddles, belly rubs, and all other dogs, big and small.

She sleeps in a crate at night and is not a picky eater. She will fuss in her crate for about 10 minutes, but this will pass with time. Her behavior improves daily, and we are teaching her basic commands.

Adoption comes with 3 free 1-hour training sessions you can redeem at any time for any issues that may crop up in your home.
