We had a 100% participation rate for X-rays in the “A” Litter pups. All 5 were rated HD-A, OCD-frei, and ED-frei. All test and health info for each litter is located on our website for all to see. We are fully transparent on all results good or bad.
If all DD Breeders would publicly publish their health traits, then we as a group would be able to incorporate all data into our breeding programs. Only through the publication of these values can the responsible breeding of the DD be maintained and further developed at a higher level.
You hear some breeders suggesting only x-ray your pup for HD and OCD because that is currently the minimum of what is required. They then will say don’t X-ray the elbows, why take the chance of them coming back negative and not being able to breed the dog. The responsible breeder would want to know if they have ED in their litter. Only through transparency, honesty, objectivity and self-criticle breeding planning can we continue to develop and breed DDs at a higher level.
