Kesha is 50 lbs of love in the house and an absolute rocket ship when working. She is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever worked with. But all business in the duck blind, pheasant field and training. I wish I had 20 Kesha’s in for training! Love this girl.

The past two weekends have been busy for us with hunt tests. 2 weekends ago we battled the 95F heat and 30 mph winds at the Horicon Marsh HRC test. Our young dogs performed great and so did some of the finished dogs but overall we had some uncharacteristic breaking issues with a few dogs. But overall I saw a lot of good stuff. This past week we ratcheted down on obedience and on Saturday we went down to run the WisIll HRC test. The hard work on obedience paid off as we went 6/6. Jackie picked up another started pass and we dropped Rickey down to started to fix his line manners, work on shorter marks and build confidence back. He also got to run bye dog at Finished and did well. Roy, Foxxy, Jones and River stomped the test, with Jones running like his dad Teddy and River winning my best dog of the day award. That’s saying something with as good as Jones and Roy ran! We were only able to run Saturday as Sunday I had volunteered to judge for the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever field tests in Wautoma. That was a lot of fun, got to see some good dog work and ran Rickey as test dog for the WCX land triple and blind and he did great.

Made a quick trip down to Kenosha area and ran the WisIll HRC test today. Dogs killed it! 6/6 day

Busy day at the kennel today. Puppy pickup day for 5 of the 7 Addie x Preacher pups. Then I was joined by Scott and Don for some upland and retriever work training.

Thanks to all the puppy buyers. I hope the surprise of the one puppy went well!

Some pics from today’s water setup. Three marks and two blinds. Wanted to see where the finished dogs and a few of our younger test dogs were at so threw some tough to see marks at them. Finished dogs ran it as an out of order triple. Seasoned dogs as a double with middle bird as memory, and right hand bird as go-bird. Youngsters had the marks simplified and into the big water. Ran some dogs at the Pardeeville, APLA test this past weekend. Big thanks to Shell and Cathy Hodgson for hosting the test, all the helpers and judges. Also big thanks to Scott and Bobbi Beck for housing me and the dogs and John and JoAnn Stancer for the use of their training pond.
