As you can see, Hope is receiving doting post-surgery care at HOPE Spay Neuter Clinic❤️ You can help other precious cats and dogs receive this level of care if you choose to dine at Ricardo's Grill & Pub in Versailles throughout the month of April. Here's how it works...when you dine at Ricardo's (either dining room or carry-out), you can choose to "round-up" your bill. All proceeds throughout April will go to HOPE Spay Neuter Clinic. World Spay Day is an annual international campaign that takes place on the last Tuesday in February. Founded in 1995 by Doris Day and the Doris Day Animal League to raise awareness of the benefits of spaying and neutering pets. The goal is to reduce pet overpopulation and the number of stray animals, ultimately saving animal lives.

At HOPE, we recognize the importance of this initiative by providing high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter services to community animals, enriching their lives and decreasing the numbers that enter our shelters.

On this World Spay Day Tuesday, HOPE provided spay/neuter services to 22 cats and dogs. HOPE, Helping Over-Population End, is making a positive difference!

Ahhh, yes, kittens are simply adorable! But, there are millions who will never have the safety and love of an indoor home. So many are left to fend for themselves and grow into a feral state and just continue the reproductive cycle forevermore... February is typically the first heat cycle of a female cat...yes, the month of Love!

At HOPE Spay Neuter, we believe in being pro-active by helping these feral and free-roaming cats by stopping that cycle and improving their lives. This past Friday HOPE held the first TNR of the new year providing s/n, vaccinations, deworming, cleaning ears and patching up wounds to 49 cats! Now these kitties will live out the remainder of their lives healthier, more content, and no longer reproducing, and no longer adding to the plight of our shelters and our communities.

Scheduling your pet is simple...just go to HOPE Spay Neuter website, scroll down and click on "schedule an appointment" https://www.hopespayneuter.org/. You can then enter information about your pet which will determine available dates that will be displayed on a calendar. You choose what date works for you!! Throughout January 2025, Ricardo’s in Versailles has designated all proceeds from dining customers who choose to "round-up" their bill to go to HOPE Spay Neuter Clinic. If you choose to enjoy a Ricardo's meal in January, when you pay your bill you can contribute to the round-up donation fund. During November, HOPE Spay Neuter Clinic will receive donations as part of Good Foods Coop’s “Give Where You Live” program. You do not need to be a Coop member to shop at the Coop grocery or to participate in this fundraiser. The grocery is located at 455 Southland Drive in Lexington. When you check out, just round up your purchase for HOPE or donate any amount you like. Every cent goes directly to the animals!

HOPE Spay Neuter conducted its second TNR clinic in October, due to the demand and volunteer support. This clinic provided critical services, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, and wound care to 99 feral and free-roaming cats. Our organization is deeply grateful for the surgical skills of Dr. Sidney Young and the tireless efforts of our TNR Coordinator, Marie. We also appreciate the support of individuals who believe in our mission of Helping-Over-Population-End through spay and neuter services. In the animal world, everyone loves a happy tail, and today at HOPE, we have one to share. A lady brought in an 8-month-old kitten she had found two months ago, scared and lost. She made an appointment at HOPE and scheduled him for his neuter. Upon examination, our vet tech determined that he was already neutered and proceeded to scan for a microchip. Bingo! A call was made to the company, and the owner was called. She and her family was overjoyed that her kitty was found!
Please have your pets microchiped and properly registered with the correct contact information. It can make all the difference in the hopes that one day your lost pet will come back home!
