No shocker here, this town is filled with humans neglecting their dogs, forgetting basic things to keep their dogs safe and inside and calling it an “accident.” Animal Control is SOFT AF, “educating first, fining later.” 🙄 I see how well that’s working out. Animal control needs to crack down and start fining irresponsible dog owners.

I was recently bit by a dog who’s owner is the MOST incompetent and irresponsible dog owner I’ve ever crossed paths with. That dog is now at the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County, thankfully, and no longer in the possession of the irresponsible man child who had him.

This week, I picked up a loose dog running in the street. She had a collar but NO ID. WTF is the point of a collar with No ID?!!

Animal Control of Vero Beach & Humane Society, your policies are part of the problem here. It’s a revolving door for good reason. Ya’ll need to check your higher ups, enforce more serious consequences such as monetary fines, and do more diligent checks before adopting out dogs. This town is a mess and ya’ll are failing these dogs.

This sweet girl was running in the street in the pouring rain. 🌧️ I drove past her at the perfect moment. She jumped into my car, poor baby is drenched. She has a collar, no ID. She’s @ the house with me currently. I need to work on locating her owner. I found her off 12th St SW & 13th Ave. She’s very sweet & hasn’t stopped wagging her tail since she arrived. 💞🐾

Edit 7/18: She was just picked up by animal control, bc I can not be responsible for another stray. Too many negligent and incompetent humans owning dogs in this town. Vero Beach Animal Control is too soft, choosing to “educate first, fine later” as per Officer E. Hummel. I told the officer, “no wonder there’s SO many strays on the streets of Vero. Animal control is too soft on these negligent humans!” 🙄🤬
