I am so excited to share our tree underground ground waterer. We live on a 40 acre property. And we need to plant wind break trees and a orchard. But they have to go in a area where I do not have a way to run a hose that far. So we came up with this method for once a week watering for our baby trees. The pvc 1" x 3' pipe is caped off at the bottom. Then has holes alternating position on pipe. The holes are closer at bottom than top. This makes it so the tree roots down more than out. Making them more stable.
At top of the PVC pipe we put a 1" fitting that has a female hose end and smooth pressure joint for the 1" pipe. Then you have the bucket fitting with is a male end for 1" that has a nut on one side. We heat sealed this to bucket as we thread it onto the female end.
Now all there is to do is to bury the pvc 1' from root ball. Bucket is designed to sit on ground by tree.
You can also put a lid on bucket to slow down the drip. This system makes it a peice of cake to feed your trees where it matters.
This will also lower your water usage because you will loose less from evaporation and wind.
Any questions please ask.
If you'd like to see video of it working I can send it to you by pm. I can not upload it here.
