Very fun consult today with a 6 month old poodle who "failed obedience class."

The missing piece for him was that nobody took the time to help the owners understand the way their energy and actions influence a young, excitable dog. They were being shown techniques and tools but not given the WHY and HOW behind what makes them work.

Lots of fun to show them the rest of the puzzle and where the pieces are going to fall into place.

Showed them the power of silence for an excitable dog, proper position and handling of a proper training chain, and how to influence your dog with body position. The puppy responded beautifully!
