Mulligan is finally looking for his long term foster or adopter! Who is gonna be his next hero! ❤️🐾🐾

Look at these eyes! No owners ever came forward for this gorgeous boy. His Stray hold is up, he has been neutered and now he is looking to show someone how amazing he is! We do not want to put him in a kennel type of boarding place where he will get limited attention, unless we really have to (and we might if we do not get a long term foster or adopter).

Ideally he would excel in a home with someone who's had experience in this type of timid dog.

If you love working with the timid (non aggressive) ones, and love the rewards of watching them come out of their shell, he is the one for you! We have seen some amazing progress already.

We also are working on a plan for training as well as soon as he is ready for it!

We will also cover all his food and medical as well while in foster care. We prefer a local foster or adopter in or around the area of Newbury Park and surrounding cities if at all possible, but are open to farther away for the right, experienced home. This sweet boy deserves the best family ever!

We cannot continue to help strays, without the communities helping us. We need fosters or adopters for dogs like this. He would not have done well in the shelter the first day we trapped him, so we let him decompress during stray hold, to give him the best chance ever at an amazing life! He is younger, looks like a lab/shep/border collie mix, Approx 60lbs and up to date on shots. So far good with dogs and cats.

Scammers are targeting lost pet owners by calling phone numbers on LOST PET flyers posted on Nextdoor and other social platforms. They claim to be from VCAS, saying they’ve found their pet, but the pet was injured and requires immediate surgery—demanding Venmo payment over the phone.⁠

• VCAS will NEVER ask for payment over the phone.⁠
• VCAS will NEVER withhold lifesaving procedures.⁠
⁠
These scammers are also spoofing our phone number, making it appear as if the call is coming from VCAS.⁠
⁠
Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local authorities. Thank you and please share!

Message from Finder: Sweet older dog found today wandering in 102 degree weather. Was very scared but followed the gray dog it was roaming with who walked right into my hse. Safe and sound in my possession right now.

Description: White older terrier. Has some kind of eye stigma so might be blind in that eye.
