Case Update: Cody Roberts Court Hearing

Yesterday, Wyoming Untrapped attended the pre trial hearing in the felony animal cruelty case against Cody Roberts.

As reported by WyoFile, Judge Richard Lavery heard arguments on key motions and indicated he was not persuaded by the defense’s attempt to dismiss the case. While no formal ruling was issued during the hearing, the judge’s comments suggest the felony case is likely to proceed to a jury trial.

The trial is currently scheduled for March 9 in Sublette County District Court.

We left the courthouse feeling cautiously optimistic. Yesterday’s hearing reinforced that the court is taking this case seriously, while we remain aware that the process is still unfolding. Public attention and engagement continue to matter.

We will stay diligent, continue to monitor developments closely, and share updates as more information becomes available. Thank you to everyone who continues to stand for accountability and compassion for wildlife.
