I stand by the waves but I don’t take a dip,
No sunhat for me, no sunscreen to slip.
My skin’s made of stone, I don’t breathe or eat,
Yet people still stop when they walk by my feet.

I’m not in the jungle, though that’s where I’m from,
Now I greet seagulls and beachgoer’s fun.
With trunk held high and no fear of the tide,
I’m a gentle giant who’s frozen with pride.

A jetty reaches, long and wide,
Where rods are cast and day meets tide.
When skies turn gold and breezes sigh,
