A HAPPY story! This is why we do what we do! After 9 nights alone in the forest, this little girl is HOME! All because the owner took immediate action. Posted signs, posted on social media, put food out, and did not give up!.
A private land owner seen the signs and called Gabriel to let him know he seen FiFi on his cameras. Gabriel reached out to me and we were able to talk them through getting her safe.

This little sleeps with BOTH eyes shut tonight!

A young black and white boxer type dog running Northshore (SR 300) road in Belfair for approximately 5 days. Reported 2 days ago, hiding in the bushes or laying right on the white line, waiting for the human they trusted, to come back, only strangers came. We spent the better part of the day trying to make a safe plan for trap placement. Up at 4am, heading to the location, stomping through blackberries, scotchbroom, stinging needles trying to get a feel for where this pup was traveling. At one point I found a red and black ant pile (yeah ouch).. People stopping traffic trying to get her safe, all she would do is run. We put out a feed station, with a camera, and a sign hoping we could get her to come, but people kept chasing her, understandably wanting to help her. She was thin and wary and not car smart, time was not on her side. Over and over I think in my mind, what could have I done different, how could I change this outcome? I'm so sorry little girl, that your life was cut short. Whatever the reason for you running loose, you are now at peace. Rest easy girl - I'm so sorry humans failed you. This world is at times so unfair.
Your life mattered to me and to those trying to save you.

Hope this helps. When dogs are lost, it is SO important to understand what happens to their brains. Now, this is not EVERY dog, but most go deep into survival, and that is how they stay alive during their adventure..

You know what is coming? Fireworks! Please due your due dillegence now. Get meds from your Vet, make sure your microchip is current, is your pet's name tag readable?

Many pets are lost during the 4th holiday, and some never return home. We don't want that to be you!

Shhhhhhhhh.......life is quite busy enough at the moment.
A breather is good for the soul, and necessary.

On May 1, this girl was visiting her grandpawrents in the Twanoah Falls area of Mason County, and something spooked her, causing the leash to snap. Away she ran. The family put up posters and notified neighbors. Even called out a drone, who at the time couldn't find her due to conditions. There were reported sightings as far as Mason Lake and then she was spotted just about a 1/4 mile away in a field. A food station was set up, and she was interested, but still very scared. We set the trap, and were able to get this girl safely contained and back to her family! 14 days on the run! Everybody sleeps well now.

6 recoveries in April, each one takes time and patience. This couldn't happen without the assistance of the wonderful community who are often the eyes and ears, and sometimes the boots on the ground.
Thank you!

Current project;
Recently adopted, the adopter kept her on leash for a few days, then let her go, and she will not come back inside. She does, however stay on the property and luckily does not wander far. However, after a month, the adopter is getting ready to travel and she needs to be safe. He has tried everything to catch her, as well as some non conventional ways, and she lacks trust.
Stay tuned..This is definately a work in progress.

5/7 with assistance from the owner, safely recovered.
