📚 Can’t miss this one: it’s National Book Lovers Day!

We love paper books here in the SDTC house, what about you?! I told my husby that built-in bookcases were a necessity when we first moved in 8 years ago so he built some! And my shelves are often stuffed and overflowing 🙌🏼

🐾 Paws & Reflect 🐾

I’ve had this hymn in my head for a few days, so I thought I’d make our topic today about it 😁

The song is titled “Grace Greater Than Our Sin.”
Here are the lyrics:

This song reminds me of the encouraging words in the last part of Romans 5:20 which say: “But where sin increased, God’s remarkable, gracious gift of grace (His unmerited favor) has surpassed it and increased all the more.”

Grace can be defined as undeserved kindness from God. When the wages of sin are death, and we can ask for and receive forgiveness, THAT is grace.

We can see the evil all around us in the world, and I hope we can recognize that we too are sinful, stained and broken. Not one of us is perfect. So even more beautiful than is the gift God offers us of GRACE. Forgiveness and eternal life can be ours!

To quote a Casting Crowns song:
God loves and offers grace, “not because of who I am, but because of what You’ve done; not because of what I’ve done, but because of who You are!”

🍉🍉🍉 There’s no better way to celebrate National Watermelon Day than with cold watermelon!

Even though it was a bit cooler outside today, Dottie and Cleo made no complaints and gobbled up their fruit! 🍉 🍉🍉

🐾 Paws & Reflect 🐾

The verse of the day on my Bible app is Isaiah 40:31, however I’d like to go a few verses back and include 28-30.

It reads, “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isa. 40:28-31 NIV

I love this! God, our Holy, All-Powerful Creator, never grows tired and wants to give US His strength!

“In your dire necessity you may draw largely upon him, but you cannot exhaust him. You may bring your boundless wants and have them all supplied, but you shall no more diminish his all-sufficiency than when an infant dips his cup into the sea and leaves the sea brimming over upon ten thousand leagues of shore.
