Just another sweet, friendly and scared bunny dumped at

Dumping domestic animals is illegal and generally a sh*tty thing to do to a defenseless creature that depends on humans for care.

For those of you that think it’s OK and “natural” for Rabbits to go back to the outdoors … you are wrong. They will die in a matter of weeks or months.

Gertrude wants to remind everyone to stay safe and be weather aware. Have a carrier ready and make a bag with hay, bowls, bottled water, food, and most importantly DO NOT FORGET THE TREATS! 🤣 Please be safe everyone.

As we approach Easter, we feel it’s important to remind everyone that pets - bunnies specifically - aren’t gifts. Easter bunnies are being bred right now, so this is important for all.

Here are some facts:

Cages are too small for them.

They can spray p*e.

Bunnies live 8-12 years.

They bite to deglove.

They are a separate species than cottontails and cannot live outdoors.

Bunnies are prey animals and typically do not like to be picked up or snuggled.

80% of unspayed females get uterine cancer.

They are considered exotic animals due to the care they require.

Buns p**p 200-300 times a day.

80% of their diet is hay, which doesn’t go well for people with allergies.

Bunnies make wonderful pets, but they're a lot more work than people expect.

If you think you might consider adopting, know you’re going to wind up purchasing a bunny as an Easter gift, or just like bunnies, please take our free virtual education course here: https://forms.gle/rNTYqNijXz9Qc65i8. ANYONE is welcome to join!
