This is what is looks like when someone is crashing your quality time with Xander... 😃 I was just trying to take a few pictures of him 😊....
On serious note .....Rehabilitation of the dog who's life was turned upside down is never easy....it's very hard and painful to see any animal going through this.
They have absolutely no idea why they were left behind.....Some owners don't have any other option....life can always throw a curve ball at them and I very appreciate those who do work with their breeders and think about what is a best for their dogs....Because many dogs are not so lucky....All we can do is to make them feel loved and cared for .... We slowly introducing ourselves , whole pack and teaching/training them how to live together as a family ...

Rehoming a dog is not as a simple as you might think....
It is very important to be honest with yourself before making any decisions about getting puppy/dog ....Not just Financially , because having this breed ( to properly care for ) cost a lot of money and time ( which many people do not realize until it's too late ). But if your life will change for any reason ( losing job, moving, expecting a new baby ect) would you be able to keep and take care of your dog?
Just something to think about it.

Sometimes the life , faith or whatever you want to call it can surprise you and make your heart feel a little bit better...❤️
With loss of our Armani another boy came back to us yesterday ( not due to his fault) . I do believe it takes a both - great breeding and great ownership to raise a good dog and owner who had to make a very difficult decision did a great job with him .... And I'm glad this boy came back to us.... ❤️

Part of the breeder’s life is not only about to bring the life to this world but to be there for those who’s life has come to the end…

Last week was hard for us….very hard …I knew this day was coming…. And no matter how much I was getting mentally prepared true is you are never ready for it….never…
On Saturday Our boy Armani ( almost 14 years old) got his wings ...He crossed over the bridge peacefully surrounded by his pack...It was both sad and amazing to see how they all behaved....At first you would think all of them are just resting, enjoying day and sun.....but it was quiet....too quiet...As we called his name everyone else around him was getting up and we just knew..... We sat there under the sun with our dogs saying goodbyes to the boy who gave us so much.... Each dog brings something special to your life and heart and when their time comes that piece of heart goes with them....
So hug your seniors for me a little bit tighter today.....and enjoy your time with them...Because I already have run out of my……💔 I gonna miss you our sweet sweet boy…. I bet you already doing your favorite thing chasing some beautiful Corso chick up there….💔 So Be happy, be free our boy💔

Every day I watch our dogs (seniors and youngsters ) play together and often think …..anyone who says they can’t teach you anything well than those ppl don’t look at them closely…..Dogs can teach you a lot of things….Iceman’s patience is amazing… I call him a “silent teacher “ who doesn’t have to use his “voice” to teach the youngsters how to behave. It’s just so wonderful to see him how he acts and treats young generation and to see how much they are learning from him …❤️

This weekend brought a lot of memories back…. Honestly it felt more like a camping 🏕️ with friends. I love to listen ppl funny stories about the dogs, how they fell in love with the them and how their journey started. You see a whole families being involved, showing, cheering for each other….something that you don’t see so often on the other shows….Yeah Im huge fan of owner-handler shows….and you can honestly feel the difference in the atmosphere when you are there….
It’s been a long time since I have shown a dog…. But I did it again with a Capone. 😃 He is a such a great boy and he did a fantastic job 😀 - Thank you Jessi for the awesome pictures of me and Capone and Roman with Alaska ❤️😊

So with all the fun we had , we did come home with the great wins!

We had Another great weekend on the dog show (IABCA ) International All Breed Canine Association in the Ridgefield WA. These shows are so much fun… ❤️ Great ppl , friendly atmosphere and good practice/socializing with the little ones..😊❤️

Both BOHEMIA HAUNANI COLD AS ICE aka Alaska ( BOB , Group 2 ) and BOHEMIA EL CAPONE - his first show ( 13 weeks old, BOB , Group 2,3,3) did a great job earning their International Champion title- Alaska , Baby International & National Champion title - El Capone 😊❤️🏆🏅

For a long time we wanted to find a way to support our Cane Corso community and especially one of my favorite rescue for doing so much for our community/breed.

This is a Cane Corso project that was on our bucket list for a long time. I just couldn’t figure out the right way how we can approach this. We worked together on this project with our son Jakub . As some of you know he started his own business when he was 15 , art was always his biggest passion and something he like to pursue. He draw an art work ( and many others that you can see on his website www.untouchedpotential.shop ) for our project . This will be a limited edition , only certain amount will be release. We will do ( for now, product will change by season) some shirts and hoodies and also canvases. From all the sales , portion of it will be donated to MUST LOVE CORSO RESCUE .
I just want to say that this project means a lot to me… for many reasons… All the work from design to printing is done by Jakub.

I’m so greatfull to received happy news from VetGen , Iceman , Mona and Alaska are clear on PRA-DSRA - Dental, Skeletal, Retinal Anomaly (DSRA)

I have ppl asking me questions about DSRA in Cane Corso…
If you are someone ( or knows anyone) who is looking for a breeder/puppy this is a very helpful information to know and to ask your breeder… As right now we do have a test that can be done and should be add to all health testing . Ask your breeder for documentation that both parents are cleared of the disease..

If you don’t know what it is…Here is a little bit information . You can research it yourself online…

What is DSRA ???

Dental-skeletal-retinal anomaly in Italian Cane Corso
DSRA is a hereditary disease in the Cane Corso characterized by abnormalities in the development and growth of the skeleton and teeth, which are markedly brittle, discoloured, or translucent. The disease is associated with progressive retinal degeneration resulting in loss of vision.
The disease is caused by a mutation in the MIA3 gene, which encodes the transmembrane protein MIA SH3, which has an essential role in the export of collagen and other proteins. The identified variant XM_005640835.3:c.3822+3_3822+4del leads to skipping of two exons from the wild type transcript at a critical interval of 5.8 Mb. The MIA3 splicing defect results in almost complete loss of function of this gene.
The genetic test can clearly reveal the genotype of the animal and is a useful tool for breeders to prevent unintentional breeding of affected puppies.
The inheritance pattern of this disease id autosomal recessive. It means that the disease will develop only in an individual that inherited the mutant allele from both parents (recessive homozygote). A heterozygote is an individual that inherited the mutant allele only from one parent, does not show any symptoms and is clinically healthy. However, it can pass the mutant allele to its offspring. If two heterozygous individuals are mated then 25% of the offspring will be healthy, 50% of the offspring will be carriers and 25 % inherit the mutant allele from both parents and will be affected.

DSRA - Testing of dogs

Test can be done with VetGen ( that is what we are using) . It’s very important and inexpensive … So there is absolutely no reason or excuse to not get it done.

I often get asked a lot of WHYs when comes to the dogs ... why we do all this .... only thing I can say is because I simply love working with dogs and l am ( and Roman ) driven by passion for this beautiful breed. If you are not involved in the breed with your heart but because of different reasons , if you're expecting get rich or you think these dogs owes you something back .... then you not doing it right.
In time lot of ppl lose the passion, sense of purpose , the desire to be successful for the right reasons and they become the ones who are part of the problems we face in our breed every day.
We are the breeders who breed first and foremost for ourselves...
So the reason why we do all this are These little guys our keepers, our future…Pepe, Mona , Diesel and youngest of our crew are…well still working on the names 😃😃😃

This is something everyone should see.

When you get your 8/10 week old puppies, please keep this image in mind. Their bones do not even touch yet. They plod around so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments with skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet.

When you run them excessively or don't restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it during this period you don't give them a chance to grow properly. Every big jump or excited bouncing run causes impacts between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in.

But when you're letting puppy jump up and down off the lounge or bed, take them for long walks/hikes, you are damaging that forming joint. When you let the puppy scramble on tile with no traction you are damaging the joint.

You only get the chance to grow them once. A well built body is something that comes from excellent breeding and a great upbringing-BOTH, not just one.

Once grown - around 12-18 months depending on their breed, you will have the rest of their life to spend playing and engaging in higher impact exercise. So keep it calm while they're still little baby puppies and give the gift that can only be given once.

As much we would love to keep them all ….we decided to find a new loving home ( spayed contract only) for our 2 beautiful girls - 8 weeks old Bella ( red fawn) and Star ( black brindle) . Both girls have a great temperament, they are very outgoing , active and very sweet. They have been raised with kids , with other animals. Both doing very well on crate and potty training.
