These flexible periotomes are designed to sever the periodontal ligament with minimal trauma to the surrounding tissues. The flexible blade is inserted into the periodontal ligament space and is used in a rocking and rotating motion.

The benefits of the flexible blade are that it follows the curve of the tooth root, helping to reduce the risk of root fracture, and damage to surrounding bone and adjacent teeth. Reducing the crown before extracting the canine, can improve instrument access when you are placing an elevator or luxator. It should also help to place extraction forceps closer to the apex of the root which minimises the incidence of root fracture during extraction.

Exciting milestone! iM3 USA ACE hosted the AVDC Foundations for the first time, welcoming residents from across the country.

Bringing together a group of dedicated professionals who are committed to advancing veterinary dentistry was an incredible experience. The AVDC Foundations introduces the knowledge and clinical skills residents need in their specialty training, helping build a foundation as they work toward becoming board-certified veterinary dentists.

Seeing so many passionate professionals collaborating, learning from one another, and sharing the same goal of improving the oral health and quality of life of animals is truly inspiring.
