TGIF 5 DOLLAR FRIDAY
Gretchen is scheduled the 26th for her next surgery. Her care has not been cheap. These surgeries are her only chance to be able to walk normally. Every penny raised goes to the pets in our care. We have NO paid employees, all volunteer their time.

We are so thankful for our village that helps support our efforts to help those who can't help themselves.

Dobbie, less than a year old, Doberman mix, LOVES kids and loves to play with other dogs. Happy and healthy, loves squeaky toys and to snuggle with her people and lounge on her pillow. Good with cats, kids, other dogs big and small. Crate trained but not fully potty trained although almost! Catches on to things quick, she’s smart! Great family pet!

We still have 4 boys 1 girl left for adoption. These sweet golden doodles mixes would love to spend Saint Patricks Day in a new home. Mom was a Golden doodle about 35 pounds and well dad was a rolling stone, who kept rolling.

It's 5 DOLLAR FRIDAY
We need to raise the funds for Ryder. This sweet boy was turned into a high kill shelter , when his family moved. They tossed him a high kill shelter. He has never had any vet care. His humans failed him . We are going to show him some humans will be there for him. And oh yea heartworm positive so treatment needed

Justice is still looking for the right home. He is good with other pups but would love to be the only one. He needs a one person home . No children. Loves to play with toys and is a big snuggle bug

We love our happy endings in rescue….you know…the stories where a pet was saved from the shelter and then finds their happily ever after when adopted by the perfect family….but unfortunately, not all rescue stories end like this….

One of the ACO‘s from the shelter reached out to us on Saturday asking if we could help. Pierre, a senior poodle, had been picked up as a stray and never reclaimed by his former owner. The adoption room was full of large dogs, and there was no place for him. Tonda Valentine, one of our dedicated fosters, drove down to the Lowndes County Animal Shelter and picked him up.

Around 3 AM on Wednesday morning Tonda heard Pierre yelp out. When she went in to check on him, she found him, weak and limp… she thought he was dead. Tonda picked him up and found that he was still breathing. She rushed him to Valdosta Veterinary Associates where he was seen by Dr. Jill Courson.

Dr. Courson and her staff were so kind… but after evaluating Pierre, it was determined that he had most likely had a stroke and was suffering. After agonizing over his situation, the decision was made to end his suffering.

Pierre crossed the Rainbow Bridge peacefully in the loving arms of his Foster Mom, Tonda. After being dumped by his previous owner and left to fend for himself, his final five days were spent in a wonderful home, with a full belly and receiving lots of attention .

Pierre did not die alone. Though it is sad that he didn’t make it, we are so thankful that we were able to get him out of the shelter and that his life had meaning. We hope his story opens people’s eyes and their hearts, and keeps another pet from having to go through what he did..

Thanks to everyone involved who helped make his final few days special. We love you, Pierre… We’ll see you again one day, over the bridge. 🌈

We had some great adoptions today. Thank you to the people who came out and adopted our pups. Thank you to the people who donated some puppy food for the crew of pups we have. Two of them were adopted but the other six sure appreciate the donation as does the foster mom. Thank you PETSMART-Valdosta Mall for hosting out event today.

We will be at PETSMART-Valdosta Mall until 4pm today we have some wonderful pets looking for a home

The cold weather didn’t deter the amazing folks who came out to meet our USA pets!! Today was a great day for adoptions! A total of seven sweet furkids went to their furever homes, and a few others made some wonderful new friends! Thanks to everyone who came out to spend part of their Saturday with us, and as always, we want to thank the AWESOME management and staff at PetSmart for always going out of their way to make sure we have everything we need to help the homeless pets!
