Update on Misty

Shes doing much better and finally moving around easier. Switched farriers and he found deep abcesses in each front hoof. Now that those are cleaned out she can heal. And while she is still rotated atleast shes more comfortable. Still a long road a head but hopefully she can be pain free within a few months

💓💓💓WE NEED SOME LOVE AND PRAYERS💓💓💓

We've been battling pain and trying to get her feet right again for the last year, but she wasn't responding with just farrier work alone.

So i had the vet out and had blood ran and xrays of her front feet.

Confirmed she has cushings and the laminitis has caused rotation. We won't stop fighting with her so long as she keeps trying.

Medication for cushings and the corrective farrier work will be expensive.

18yrs together. I will do whatever it takes until she tells me otherwise.

Pray for Misty to have a good recovery. She may never do all things like she did before but getting her comfortable and back to a somewhat normal life is our goal. Shes to young to cross the bridge right now.

Good morning
We've pretty much switched over to our Gran Foundation Quarter Horses page as far as lessons and other services go.
But since we have a good following on here that knows our beloved Shetland Pony Misty, we could 100% use your prayers for her.

Misty took a nasty step loading in the trailer 2 yrs ago which caused her to pull a muscle badly. She went on stall rest for a few months and even with massage and therapy she ended up getting laminitis.
We've been battling this since and she was doing better until her last farrier visit.
We are having to pull our emotions aside (though 18yrs with her that is not an easy task) and having to make the ultimate decision. Keep fighting or let her cross the rainbow bridge.
She is still perky, eating well, not loosing any weight. Just painfully sore on her front feet.

We will be doing xrays and blood work to make sure of anything else going on... but in the meantime we could use your prayers for her, for us... this is not what I imagined with her only being 19yrs old. But its what God has dealt us.

So with all of this. We will definitely need to raise as much funds as possible to help keep pushing on.

The weather is cooling off and we will be doing lessons again.
We will be opening up the stud books early for booking in to breed to our Stallion Mr Blakburn Poco 145 as well.

Misty is all that's left of our OG herd and we will not go down without a good fight for her.♥️
