The newest member of Zoe’s Doggie Retreat, Harlee! 🫶🏻

We just adopted Harlee this week and have been letting her adjust and get comfortable. I thought it was time to introduce everyone to her 🥹 She is the best girl and we are so lucky to have her. You’ll be seeing her face more and more on this page. 🩷

This makes me emotional 🥹 it’s been so fun to watch these doggies grow up! Some have grown from puppies to adults and some from adults to gray faced seniors 😭 some of them were very unsure of me at the beginning to now being my besties! I just love this job so much 🫶🏻

I have been lacking with my posts but something very eventful happened this past weekend.
I was camping with my in-laws at their property & we found this sweet kitty all by itself clear up on the mountain. We figured it might be someone’s cat so we just let it be. We would see him every day in the same spot and he looked so cold. We bought him some food and he was sooo hungry. He got really comfortable with me and let me pick him up. At this point, we knew it was someone’s cat & they had dumped him up on the mountain. No one in the community knew whose cat it was but he definitely wasn’t an outdoor cat. We heard some coyotes and knew he wouldn’t be safe by himself out there. We took him up to the property & got him cozy in the shed for the night. I ended up taking him home and he is the cuddliest, sweetest cat ever. We named him Petey 🫶🏻 He is now hanging out at Grandpa’s house living his best life. Please don’t dump your pets on the side of the mountain. This poor baby was so confused & stayed in the same spot waiting for someone to get him. He is now safe and just loving life. We will see if he is chipped and if someone is missing him but for now he is being spoiled by grandpa. 🫶🏻

I will have a booth this Saturday (October 12) at the Pet-a-Palooza event at Art Dye Park 🐾 This is my first event with Zoe’s Doggie Retreat and I am so excited! There will be food trucks and other vendors so come say hi!!

Today, we remember the heroes and victims of 9/11, including the dogs. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.
I got this information from the book “The Dogs of Ron Burns. A Tribute to the Dogs of 9/11”. I purchased it when I was at the 9/11 Memorial a few years ago. It’s an amazing book to honor the search and rescue, K9 NYPD, and therapy dogs who helped so many people.
