Our owner and self-proclaimed “crazy dog lady” had taken her dogs to the same groomer for over 10 years when her groomer moved away. After trying out several different groomers in the Des Moines area, she realized how lucky she was to have had a groomer that she could not only trust, but also listened to her concerns and treated her dogs with compassion. We decided to open Bark Shop with these key

attributes in mind. We saw that Des Moines needed a new grooming concept where the staff is compassionate to each animal’s situation and treats your pets like family. Habla espanol :)

We often get asked what we use for shampoo, we almost exclusively use Chris Christensen - a high end luxury line of grooming supplies & products. These shampoos smell amazing, leave the coats soft & silky, and are suitable for all coat types.

If you have a scent request - let your Groomer know at drop-off and we just may be able to accommodate! 🛁🫧
