A client asked me today while I was working, "how do you know how far the frog should be taken down?"
✨Because I know where it should be relative to the heel buttress. ✨
He then asks, "okay, how do you know where those should be taken down to?"
✨Because I know where they should sit relative to the rest of the hoof wall & the seat of corn. ✨
"So how do you know how far the hoof wall should be taken down?"
✨Because I know where it should sit relative to the hard sole plane. I also know how to spot damaged structure and decide when it needs to be given certain liberties for the sake of healing. ✨
So of course, "how do you know where the hard sole plane should be?"
✨Because I know the difference between that and false sole plane - and thank goodness the live sole plane ✨
I could go on and on, all the way into the organ itself...

He goes "well I thought that answer was gonna be a lot simpler" 🤣

ITS ALL RELATIVE, FOLKS. And that's the beauty of having a solid foundation to work off of! 🙌🏼

You can absolutely answer with "well, I've been doing it long enough so I just know."
But in my opinion, that'll only work until it doesn't. That's a house built on the sand.

( I must note, there's obviously more details one could add to each answer, but that's the meat potatoes I'd say)
