To view animals available for adoption, visit the website 24Petconnect.com under "adopt a pet" ,enter zip code 20772, and select Prince Georges County Animal Services Division to view the available animals in the facility. Please visit us at 3750 Brown Station Road in Upper Marlboro, MD during our normal business hours (Tuesday-Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

). You do not need to be a resident of Prince George's county to adopt a pet from us! Animals are placed as household pets only. You are not permitted to adopt animals for guarding, hunting or mousers. In accordance with Prince George's County law, all female pets MUST be spayed and all male pets neutered. Animals adopted out will be spayed/neutered before going home. If a medical condition prohibits spay/neuter at the time of adoption, a contract will be signed to bring the pet back for spay/neuter surgery at a later date. The animal must be maintained in accordance with the licensing and other laws of the community in which it resides and be provided with routine and emergency veterinary care as required. It is the objective of the Animal Services Division to place pets from the Facility in the most suitable home available for both the pet and the family. We reserve the right not to place an animal, to refuse or deny any application, or to make recommendations to consider another selection.

When you watch a puppy play, you can’t help but smile, and Fusako is here to prove it. This bundle of energy is all about play, play, play. Balls? Yes. Ropes? Definitely. Frisbees? Absolutely.

Like most pups her age, Fusako has a goofy side. She may try to turn your fingers into a chew toy, but offer her a toy instead and she’s happy to switch gears. Smart and silly? Yes, please.

Fusako hasn’t learned commands just yet (unless "adorable" counts), and she’ll need adopters who are ready to help her with the basics like potty training, obedience, and manners.

If you’re ready to welcome years of joy (10-15 years), boundless energy, and nonstop zoomies into your life, come meet Fusako. She just might be the best friend you’ve been looking for.

ASD is so grateful for local business partnerships and excited to announce Weis Markets May Paws for Pets Campaign!!!

For the entire month of May, both Weis Upper Marlboro and Mitchellville locations will collect donations during National Pet Month! This means during May customers will be asked if they would like to round up their grocery bill to support our animal services facility! 🐾👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

This helps our facility tremendously as we use the gift cards that they provide to purchase items to assist the daily care and maintenance of our shelter pets.

⚠Urgent Need for Kuranda Beds!!!⚠

Consider Donating Now!

Due to our high volume of intakes, we are having a shortage of Kuranda beds, and we are asking our community to Show Some Love and donate a Kuranda bed. We are also looking for NEW bedding or towels and toys for their merriment (cat toys, Kongs, Nylabones, frisbees).

As part of enrichment programs, we are looking for shelter-approved toys that help keep animals entertained and occupied with mental stimulation while at the shelter. This can help their true personalities shine through despite being stressed. For recommendations on donations, visit our enrichment item wishlist here.
Our kennel still needs donated items such as new bedding, cleaning supplies, and foster items such as scales or kitten milk. Please see the kennel supply wishlist here.
We are not currently accepting used bedding, pillows, stuffed animals, plush toys, or items with stuffing.

In addition, ASD is strongly encouraging donations of Kuranda beds of all sizes for our doggie friends. There are lots of benefits for pets sleeping on Kuranda Beds, including:

• Kuranda beds are the superior choice in shelters and rescues due to their durability and the added protection of a one-year Chew Proof Warranty.
• Shelters prefer Kuranda beds since they are easy to clean and sanitize, minimizing the spread of infectious diseases.

CAN'T DONATE A BED?? ASD ACCEPTS NEW BEDDING AND TOWELS!!! Unfortunately, we cannot accept used bedding or towels, but we do accept NEW bedding and or towels. Very often our animals come in emaciated, pregnant, sick or injured and they need extra support, please consider donating new towels/ bedding or dog beds from our amazon Wishlist!

Say hello to Kaya, a beautiful 2-year-old German Shepherd mix with a playful spirit and a heart full of love! Kaya recently finished being a devoted mama and is now ready to enjoy life as someone’s cherished companion with no more babies!

She’s part of the “gentle and dainty” playgroup, where she enjoys making friends and showing off her zoomies.

Kaya can have higher energy and loves to run, roll in the grass, and soak up attention—kisses included! She’ll chase after toys but doesn’t mind sharing and is just as happy getting pets from her favorite humans. She walks well on leash and would thrive with a confident owner familiar with working breeds. A little basic training will help her learn not to jump up (she’s just so excited to love you!)
