Our adoptions happen on a first come, first served basis. You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

To view animals available for adoption, visit the website 24Petconnect.com under "adopt a pet" ,enter zip code 20772, and select Prince Georges County Animal Services Division to view the available animals in the facility. Please visit us at 3750 Brown Station Road in Upper Marlboro, MD during our normal business hours (Tuesday-Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

). You do not need to be a resident of Prince George's county to adopt a pet from us! Animals are placed as household pets only. You are not permitted to adopt animals for guarding, hunting or mousers. In accordance with Prince George's County law, all female pets MUST be spayed and all male pets neutered. Animals adopted out will be spayed/neutered before going home. If a medical condition prohibits spay/neuter at the time of adoption, a contract will be signed to bring the pet back for spay/neuter surgery at a later date. The animal must be maintained in accordance with the licensing and other laws of the community in which it resides and be provided with routine and emergency veterinary care as required. It is the objective of the Animal Services Division to place pets from the Facility in the most suitable home available for both the pet and the family. We reserve the right not to place an animal, to refuse or deny any application, or to make recommendations to consider another selection.

We want to be transparent that our shelter is currently at full capacity, and we are reaching out for help from the community to find placement for these dogs by the close of business on Tuesday, May 19th. We are looking for adopters, fosters, or assistance from our rescue partners.

Unfortunately, if these dogs do not leave by May 19th, they are at risk of euthanasia. Your support can make a difference.

Leona is a confident, friendly girl who will greet you with a sweet meow the moment you walk in. She’s calm, easygoing, and completely unfazed by life’s little chaos. Meet Grayme, a petite, fluffy kitty with a big heart! She is very social, loves to meet new people and will quickly approach to say hello. Grayme is comfortable being held like a baby and brings on an awesome purr. She is a little reserved in the shelter and hasn’t dialed up her play but she loves to do belly rolls as she engages in some very low key wand toy play. (See her profile for a video.) She is a little apprehensive around new cats, and will appreciate a slow introduction to other cats in a home. She quickly captured staff and volunteer hearts and is sure to steal yours. ASD is hosting a Vaccination Clinic on Sunday, May 17th from 10am–2pm, and we’re looking for dependable student volunteers who need to complete their school volunteer hours.

🕗 Volunteer Shift: 8am–2:30pm
📍 Location: 3750 Brown Station Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772

🎯 Volunteer Tasks Include:
• Assisting with clinic setup and breakdown
• Guiding cars through the clinic
• Helping staff with various tasks throughout the day
• Providing general support to keep the clinic running smoothly
