We had a long, hot, successful day at the The Cecil County Fair with all of our riders doing something new! It was Grace's first horse show, Sydney, Bella, and Iris all moved up in divisions with their horses, and Natalie and Sami stepped into the 2'6 Hunter Derby taking the high options. We came home with multiple tricolors and a few sashes! Onto the Summer Sizzle August 2nd.

Thank you to all the volunteers who work so hard to put on the Cecil County Fair open show. The classes were huge and they managed to fit everyone in before it was completely dark. Its also always fun to see familiar faces out and about.

We had a fantastic day showing at McDonogh! As always, the rings and courses were great. The staff was helpful, organized, and kind. They even had a table of refreshments and sunscreen for everyone at the show!

Intrigue and Lauren van Dam started off the day with two blues and a Reserve Champion ribbon in Adult Amateur Hunter.

Intrigue and Iris Hamilton then brought home three blues and the Champion ribbon in the Low Children's Hunter.

GMs As You Wish and Bella Mohr brought home a slew of primary colors in the Pony Hunters and a second in the Pony Medal.

Lauren van Dam piloted Dream On GSF around his first ever courses and finished with a 3rd, 4th, and 6th in a large group of Hopeful Hunters.

Sydney Bagwell and Wicked Hallucinations had successful courses, with ribbons in every class, in a large group of Pre Childrens Hunters.

We had fun showing on the grass at Elkridge this weekend! Our photographer (Daniel) was only able to come for a few hours due to being on baby duty while Abi was training at the show.

RH ROWDY BOY and Sami - Champion Novice Equitation, Reserve Champion Low Childrens Hunter, First place in the Pairs Class

WICKED HALLUCINATIONS and Sydney - Champion Hopeful Hunter, Champion Pre Child/Adult Hunter, and First Place in the Pairs Class

DADDY'S BOAT MONEY and Cara - Reserve Champion Leadline 5-7

DADDYS BOAT MONEY and Lucy - Top four placings in every class in Hopeful Hunter and Pre Child/Adult Hunter

INTRIGUE and Chloe - their first show of the season earning a top finish in the Low Hunter

DREAM ON GSF and Iris - used this show as a great learning experience and he jumped all the fill in the horse ring on his first try! No better way to learn to show than going to a show.

A big thanks to Kathy Wells for keeping our kids going while Abi is away on maternity leave! Iris, Bella, and Sami kicked off the BCHSA season this past Saturday at St. Timothy's School with improvement in every course and some good ribbons!

Thank you to Matt, Skylar, Renn, Miranda, and the rest of the St. Timothy's staff for keeping the ring running and doing a great job.

We have an important update! Maternity leave for Abi starts next week. Thanks to a great team the horses will be handled and lessons covered for boarders during leave. Messages regarding boarding, lessons, and training will be answered upon Abi's return in June.

We have a RARE opening for someone to join our show team either with half leases available on the farm or bringing your own horse to board. We are a boutique barn in Baltimore County, MD specializing in show hunters. We attend local and regional hunter shows in the area. The members of our show team are very supportive of each other as we work towards personal growth and create educated horsemen.

When students rely on one particular aid, I like to take it away. In this case it was hanging on the reins for a false sense of security. Adding the macarena made them focus on something aside from the fact that they weren't holding the reins. It is also good for some laughs.

Side note: neither of these two knew the macarena so I am officially old.
