Yesterday this poor little thing wandered to our home. Severely neglected, possibly abused or chained up, Rhys and I took immediate action. We sat at the emergency vet for 2 hours, waiting to hear. While waiting, we saw 5 families walking out in tears as they said goodbye to their pet. Explaining to my son what Euthanasia is was so hard. Even harder to tell him that the little friend he named Pom Pom French Fry may have to be put to sleep also.
He wouldn’t leave without hearing from the vet. He sat there with me and waited. The vet explained her hear murmur was a 5 out of 6, her abdomen was painful. Said “I wouldn’t have this dog around your son. Pomeranians bite and she was trying to nip me.” Rhys argued back saying “She hasn’t tried to bite me!”
The technician came out with the bill of what it would cost, then advised me to take her home and go to the vet where it would be much cheaper. He could see in our eyes that we were going to give her a fighting chance. It looks like her abdomen is very painful, she needs radiology and cardiology to evaluate the heart murmur, blood work and a lot of TLC.
All Star Paws will donate 100% of its summer proceeds to supporting her care. If you are moved enough by her story and want to help, sharing her post, leaving comments of love and support or sending a small monetary donation to
