Excited to get my first clutch of eastern box turtles! I thought it was interesting how late into the night she went compared to my 3 toes she started nesting around 5pm and ended up laying these around 4am this is only my second year breeding box turtles but from my experience my three toes are usually finished up nesting around 10-11pm I also noticed breeding activity a little later in the year for these guys compared to my 3 toes

Hermann's have definitely become one of my favorite species to keep, they have so much personality and love to party they are very busy little tortoises... the fact that they can thrive in my climate here in southern California and brumate naturally is a bonus plus they are absolutely beautiful! I have a couple adults as well that I've aquired this last year but these are the first babies I've been raising up, here's them today vs the day I got them last October! Growing like weeds absolute salad monsters
