Happy National Cat Day to the ones who claim to be independent 🐈
A 2019 Oregon State University study published in Current Biology found that about 65% of cats and kittens are securely attached to their owners. That's the same rate researchers see in human infants. Securely attached cats use their person as a source of security when something feels new or unfamiliar.
If your cat is the one who keeps you steady on hard days, the bond may be mutual. Cats can be emotional support animals too. See if an ESA letter is right for you: americanservicepets.com
