Please don’t wait until a stray shows up with a litter of babies before reaching out 💔

By the time there are kittens involved, it becomes much harder to find placement, catch everyone, and get them fixed. We’re already drowning when kitten season hits — but if we can get these cats before they get pregnant again, we stand a real chance of breaking the cycle.

Today alone, Whatcom Feline received four separate requests involving multiple cats — and in several of those cases, if we’d been contacted sooner, we would’ve been dealing with 4 cats instead of 8 or 9.

👉 If you’re seeing a stray or neighborhood cat hanging around — even if she doesn’t have kittens yet — that’s the time to reach out.
Early help = fewer homeless kittens and more lives saved.

Let’s work preventatively, not reactively. 🐾

Juniper was an elderly persons dog. Very loved, she knows basics and has great recall. Super affectionate. Her daughter is Harriet with the amazingly sleek coat. We know Juniper will glow too.
Owner had to go to a care home, and no family to take them, Let's give juniper a second chance!!

🚨 URGENT: FOSTER HOMES NEEDED IN WHATCOM COUNTY! 🚨

We’re at a breaking point. Without foster homes, we may have to shut down our rescue efforts.

We want to keep saving lives — but we simply can’t do it without help. Right now, we have dogs waiting… and no one stepping up. The truth is: without fosters, we can’t say yes anymore.

I’m having a really hard time with losing Gucci.

He came to me so tiny—he couldn’t even walk yet. I remember setting him down gently and watching as he tried to figure out his body, wobbly and unsure. But he figured it out. And as he grew, he became the first one to greet me every time I walked into the room, always the first to greet me with his crooked little body dragging his little body.

I foster a lot of animals. So many come and go each year. And I love them all, but there are always a few who really grab onto my heart and don’t let go. Gucci was one of those.

There was something about him—his fight, his sweetness, his determination to just be a part of things—that made me love him even more. I knew I couldn’t keep him if he got to a good place medically and became adoptable, I couldn’t help the next, but I so badly wanted him to have the perfect life. The softest bed. The best person.

I didn’t expect to lose him this soon. This one hurts. It really, really hurts.

Rest easy, little Gucci. You were loved every second you were here. And you always will be.
