Today we're remembering Kayla Mackey's "Trixie" ❤

My sweet Trixie. She passed away in November of 2023 in my arms. She was 14 years old. She was diabetic and we gave her insulin every day for 3 years before she passed. She is still so missed and the grief from losing her still sneaks up on me all the time. She was one of the best kitties!!

We would love to remember your pet! Comment your pet's name, photo, and a little information about them (if you'd like) on our pinned post so we can feature them!

Those crisp, cool mornings may feel like the end of pest season—but don’t be fooled! Fleas and ticks remain active well into the fall, especially in wooded areas, tall grass, and even your own backyard.

These pests aren’t just a nuisance. They can cause:
✔️ Itchy, irritated skin
✔️ Allergic reactions
✔️ Serious illnesses like Lyme disease or anemia

The good news? Prevention is simple and effective. Keeping your pet protected now means avoiding bigger problems later in the season. Whether it’s a topical treatment, chewable, or collar, we can help you find the best option for your furry friend.

If you need a refill or aren’t sure which prevention is right for your pet, give us a call. A little protection today goes a long way toward keeping tails wagging and paws happy this fall.

September is Senior Pet Wellness Month! ❤

Our senior pets are treasured family members, and they deserve a little extra love and care as they age. Just like people, pets can experience health changes over time—arthritis, dental disease, weight gain or loss, and even subtle shifts in behavior can all be signs that something needs attention.

That’s why annual or even twice-yearly checkups are so important for senior dogs and cats. These visits help us:
✔️ Catch early signs of age-related illnesses
✔️ Keep joints and mobility as comfortable as possible
✔️ Monitor dental health, heart function, and weight changes
✔️ Adjust nutrition, medications, or lifestyle as your pet’s needs evolve

Many pets are living longer, healthier lives thanks to proactive care—and a little extra support goes a long way in making their golden years comfortable and joyful.

If your furry friend is starting to show a little gray around the muzzle, now is the perfect time to schedule a wellness visit. Let’s help them enjoy every stage of life with ease and comfort.

Today, we pause to honor the beloved pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge. The love they gave us was unconditional, and the pawprints they left on our hearts are everlasting. 💜

We know that saying goodbye is one of the hardest parts of being a pet parent, but the memories we shared live on in the wag of a tail we can still picture, the purr we can still hear, and the quiet moments of comfort they gave us when we needed it most.

🐾 On this day, we invite you to share a favorite photo or memory of a pet you’ve loved and lost. Whether they’ve been gone for months or many years, their spirit is always with us. Together, we can celebrate the joy, companionship, and unconditional love our pets brought into our lives.

Autumn is a beautiful season, but it also brings a few hidden dangers for our furry friends. As you enjoy cooler days and colorful leaves, remember that some common fall items can pose risks to curious pets:

⚠️ Rodenticides & Antifreeze – Often used more in the fall, these are extremely toxic even in tiny amounts. Store them securely and clean up spills right away.

⚠️ Wild Mushrooms – Some mushrooms that pop up in damp yards and wooded areas can be poisonous if eaten. Supervise your pet outdoors and remove any you spot.

⚠️ Holiday Treats & Decorations – Chocolate, candy, and festive décor may be tempting but can be harmful to pets.

If you suspect your pet has ingested something toxic, call the Pet Poison Hotline right away at 855-764-7661. Acting quickly can make all the difference.

As the kids head back to school and family schedules shift, our pets can feel the change too. Dogs and cats thrive on routine, and sudden changes, (like the house being empty during the day or dinner happening later), can leave them feeling stressed or confused.

🐾 What helps:

- Keep walk and meal times as consistent as possible.

- Add in a few extra minutes of morning or evening playtime to give them reassurance.

- Provide enrichment toys or safe chews while you’re away to help ease boredom.

If you notice changes in your pet’s behavior, like separation anxiety, accidents in the house, or loss of appetite, it could be their way of adjusting to the new schedule.

We’re here to help with tips and care so they stay happy and healthy through every season of life.

Today we're remembering Alisha Morris-Scott's "Gracie"

Our beautiful Gracie Girl! She was one of the best boxers we owned. I remember the day we brought her to you all to help her cross the rainbow bridge. She passed as soon as we got there. I cried bc I was so conflicted. How do you choose to end someone’s life. Someone you love so deeply. But when she passed on her own I had regret that I made her suffer. I was a mess for weeks. I felt so robbed bc 9.5 years wasn’t enough time to love that beautiful face!! Gracie Lou 5/14/11-9/01/20! Forever missed but never ever forgotten!!
