A grooming salon that understood the girls are not just dogs, they are my kids. A salon that would groom the girls from start to finish, as quickly and as safely as possible, with no crating. A salon where I view the entire bathing & grooming from start to finish. A salon that understood quality care is first priority. A salon that accepted grooming appointments the same way a hairdresser schedules grooming appointments. So Fluffy Pups® was created.

Having the sign come down was harder than selling the building. I was so excited and felt so official the day Lewis Sign came to install the original sign in 2005.

In 2014, it was time for an update. Once again Lewis Sign made a beautiful second version.

And on Wednesday, Lewis Sign was gracious to be available to take my sign down and deliver it to my home.

Little known facts:
The first sign was designed with the letters in G r o o m i n g spaced out for a reason. I was considering adding boarding, and there was enough room to revise the sign to "Grooming & Boarding". The town board declined my petition for expansion, and so the new sign didn't need the spacing.

I also had Samantha Bear & Teddy Monster repositioned from being bookends to being next to each other, as by 2014 they were in Heaven together. ❤️

The poodles have left the building.

Thank you for 20+ years of allowing me to love your pups.

I officially sold the building this afternoon. While I do maintain ownership of Fluffy Pups®, I am retiring from grooming.

I bought the building in July 2004, and converted it from residential to commercial use.

Fluffy Pups® took the first pup March 16, 2005, and we took our last pup today, July 17, 2025.

It has been my privilege to be trusted with your pups. I started Fluffy Pups® because I couldn't find anywhere good enough for my girls. I left my day job, confidently knowing I would be filling a need.

March 21 update:

This has been a big week here. Two big milestones!

Fluffy Pups officially turned 20 years old on March 16! I don't know where 20 years went. I have such vivid memories of some of my very first days at Fluffy Pups, and I thank all of you for your support throughout it all.

And today was Ashley's last day with us at Fluffy Pups.

Ashley has been with us since 2021, and I am going to miss seeing her every day. She made coming to work so incredibly fun.

Ashley is starting up her own grooming business, and I could not be happier for her. In April, I will post details of how you can find Ashley, and I wish her every success.

Morgan, Sydny and I will continue to be taking care of your pups. There is no news to provide on the sale of the building, and I will update when there is any news to share.

The classic problem with small business: when the founder is ready for the next adventure, there isn’t always a clear path forward. It's been an amazing 20 years and I am thankful for every minute of it.

I have built a loving community and a trusted place for you and your pups. I would love for it to continue forward. If one of the Fluffy Pups fam is interested in buying the building and taking over Fluffy Pups, please contact Brian Caplicki at KW (845)237-2368. I will be more than happy to extend a generous building/business agreement and assist in your success forward if I know it is going to stay in the family.

There is zero urgency - we are continuing to operate normally and keep to our schedule. We all love your kids, and I will keep you updated on all of our future plans.
