Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation We are a non-profit no kill animal shelter for cats in Riverside, CA In 1972, Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation was founded by Hettie L. Perry (1905-1996).

Hettie -- affectionately known as The Cat Lady of Pasadena -- and her very patient husband, fed, nursed, groomed and cared for cats in their private home. Hettie's life was filled with love for helping unwanted homeless cats. Hettie named Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation after a cat named "Room 8" that she had read about who was the mascot at a Los Angeles county elementary school for 16 years. The

current shelter in Jurupa Valley, California was built by Hettie in the mid-1980’s and continues her vision of taking in, caring for, and providing and finding cats of all ages a place to feel loved and safe. Our no-cage environment provides a safe and caring home for approximately 85 cats awaiting adoption, as well as lifetime care for those who cannot be placed, including senior cats who will live out their lives in a comfortable setting. Our cattery is divided into eight separate rooms and each room has an attached outdoor, enclosed patio area where the cats can get fresh air and lounge in the sun on benches and other furniture. We are open by appointment only. Adoption procedures include completing an application and, if approved, paying an adoption fee for each cat or kitten.

Happy National Kitten Day! This thought made my heart warm.

“They say the reason you feel so connected to your pets is because they were originally meant to be your children, but there were no human bodies available when they incarnated. So they came through in the form they could, just to be near you in this lifetime.”

This is 1 year old Lenin. He is available for adoption. Unfortunately, he has consistent URI issues and likely has Feline Herpes. Although lysine and antivirals keep it at bay he always has a sneeze and a goopy eye. Other then that he is a busy sweet boy that loves a good nap. Limon is spending the night at socalanimalhospital_. “They are thinking it is brachial plexus avulsion. There is severe nerve damage. They want to give him a steroid injection and see how he does over the next couple days, usually severe cases do end up with a leg amputation, but only time will tell.” This update and video brought to you by Bri. Meet Limon! This little man was found in the gutter on Limonite near where the golf course used to be. Despite the fact that his front right leg is dangling he gave me quite the run this morning. 🐈‍⬛🏃‍♀️Lucky for him, I was already heading to socalanimalhospital_ to see Dr. Means with another cat. He’s going to get an evaluation and we will see what he needs. Looks like he fell from an engine compartment onto the road. We’ll update when we know more. ❤️🐱

Well, these 5 cuties were dumped on us on Sunday. They are very cute and sweet, but they’re definitely not ready for adoption yet. It will take a few weeks at least.
