Our sweet friend and wonderful instructor, Lisa Mitchell, is on a difficult health journey, as many of you know. Her daughter has set up a meal train for Lisa and Cliff and it would be a huge help at this time for them to receive a ready-to-eat meal each day. Lisa's home is just "up the road" from Saddle Up! - you can message us or email the link in the Meal Train sign up for the address. The August Volunteer Spotlight shines on Leader Mikayla A who has jumped into Saddle Up! volunteering with enthusiasm. Mikayla's reliability, skill with horses, and friendliness have quickly won the hearts of instructors, horses and riders alike. Hosting the Belmont Occupational Therapy Program students' Community Day is an annual tradition here at Saddle Up! that we love. These fabulous students devote the morning to working on a project (thank you for mulching in this heat!) and then work with Sandra Z to observe equine-assisted therapy in action!

The benefits that our riders experience here are many, but making friends is one of the most important! Saddle Up! riders are building social skills, a sense of community, learning empathy, teamwork, and sportsmanship, and gaining the confidence that comes from lasting connections! Love these two and the friendship they've shared over the years!

This week is going to start off hot but we will still have a blast and learn some new skills even if we are “walk only” — like an “animal friends picnic”, for example! Our instructors and volunteers know how to bring the fun in any kind of weather.

Another first! Maxwell and Fjord Solveig are savoring a beautiful evening trail ride. Max, accompanied by devoted volunteers, continues to grow in riding skills and confidence . We are delighted to have Solveig join the program, she will be a trustworthy steed for Maxwell and many more. 🩷💗☀

We will be celebrating the color, art, music, and culture of Mexico this year at Chukkers for Charity presented by Medical House Calls! This year, Chukkers will be the finals of the USPA Regionals Presidents Cup for the Mid-States Circuit. The winner of this match will qualify for the National Presidents Cup to be played during the US Open. You will NOT want to miss this afternoon of polo, fun, food, friends, silent auction, signature libations, and the traditional half-time "stomping of the divots".
