ARBA registered rabbitry in central Oklahoma focusing on show quality Tricolor Rex and Red Satins. Displaying Satin, Rexed, and Waved pelts; ss, rr, and wawa.
We have two main projects we are breeding towards here at Rainy Days.
• The first and main project is show quality red Satins that excel in body type, red intensity, and growth rate. They should exceed on the show table and dinner table alike.
•Avant-garde Reza Breeding Project
Macro-goals: Commercial body type with great depth and width of loin being the focus and fullness to table. For eas
e I will refer to this as SRW. Micro-goals: Oversized prick ears for increased heat tolerance. Good growth rate, ideally hitting 5 lbs by 10 weeks of age but will select up to 12 weeks at this stage. Growth can and will be selected for later. Prefer a medium sized adult with commercial growth rates.

This handsome dude is going to be heading to Amarillo later this month! An Acorn x Fuego grow out buck that is such a deep red beefcake I just couldn't eat him, lol. So he's just been eating my feed and being a freeloader 🫠

I'm toying with getting out of Satins and the Satin NZ project. As some of you know I am going through a divorce right now and downsizing my responsibilities with the rabbits would be helpful. I hate that the Satins would be the ones to go but there's just less interest and more work involved in them. A few really nice keepers left yesterday (4 month old Fire Starter keeper doe was REALLY looking nice, a Ruby Rose doe, and beefy Ashley doe, Roux, two Rex, and a tri Reza project buck.)
I may still keep Ruby Rose because I love her so dang much, and Fuego. They're a powerhouse combination and will at least keep red shinies in my future.
I'm not 100% on this yet... But that's where my head has been for the last month. If anyone wants to come up and sift through what I have, let me know. The pure Satins that would be going would be 4k's Ashley, Hot Mess, and Dunkin' Donuts. All very nice beefy typy does. H***y Tonk would be great in a NZ program as to my knowledge she doesn't carry Satin, very beefy typy NZ red look (she's roughly 50/50 Satin NZ), Kikimora (normal coated and carries Satin.) As well as some normal coated and shiny older grow outs.
Still hoping to keep a few Rex, Monkey & Abra, and maybe Ruby & Fuego.

Welcome to the Astrex project at Rainy Days.
It’s going to be quite the endeavor but the end goal for this rabbitry will be as follows:
· A large sized rabbit weighing 9 to 11 pounds.
· Oversized pricked ears held upright with strong ear bases.
· Quick growth, hitting 5 pounds by or before 10 weeks of age.
· Excellent mothering ability with litter sizes of 7-10 kits.
· A shiny curled coat into adulthood that exhibits the height of what Astrex has to offer.
· Thick, well furred hocks.
· Ease of handling from kits to adults, these rabbits should be friendly and curious, not prone to anxiety or nervousness.
You’re more than welcome to follow along our journey, it will take some time but we are excited to see where this goes. As of right now we are in the infancy stage, working to get consistent curl that lasts into adulthood.
