Exciting news... Unique has been adopted!

Unique spent 127 days with us during her most recent stay, and in the time she has spent with us we really have gotten to see her personality shine and how ready she was for a place to call her own.

As a Dolly's Dream dog, Unique headed home with a crate, bed, and a bag full of goodies, and her adoption fee was waived thanks to this incredible program that helps dogs like her get a fresh start.

We’re so grateful to Dolly’s Dream for helping dogs like Unique find their people, and to her adopters for giving her the chance she’s been waiting for.

Congratulations to Unique and her new family! 💜🐾

Mikey found his forever 🥹🐾

After a Doggie Day Out this weekend, Brooke and her boyfriend completely fell for him. From a peaceful walk along the Riverwalk to relaxing at a café, Mikey showed just how calm, sweet, and unbothered he is.

The moment that sealed it? While Brooke stepped away, Mikey sat patiently, staring at the bathroom door waiting for her to come back 💔

Brooke has always been the dog lover—but this time, her boyfriend was the one who said, “let’s adopt him.” After a few days of getting everything ready, they came back for him today… and the rest is history 🏡❤️

After waiting since September 2025, Daisy finally got her moment 🤍

Leo and Annette came in planning to adopt a Boxer—but fate had something else in mind. When they asked who had been at the shelter the longest, they were introduced to Daisy… and instantly fell in love.

They originally planned to do a “test drive” to see how she’d fit with their four dogs at home (they’ve always had five 🐾), but sitting with her in the office, everything just clicked. No test needed. They knew she was theirs.

Daisy went home that day with a car full of goodies and a family who couldn’t wait to love her. From the longest stay to her forever home—this is exactly why we do what we do 🤍

In living memory of dog Sinbad 🤍🐾 “In 2019, I adopted Sinbad from Gulf Coast Humane Society after he had been waiting there for a year. He became the best dog I’ve ever had, and I’m so grateful I was able to give him the loving life every dog deserves. Sinbad passed away on February 11, and he is deeply missed every single day. I also plan to continue supporting Dolly’s Dream and the incredible work they do helping dogs find the homes and love they deserve.” Thank you to Sinbads forever family for giving him the best years of his life!

March was a big and meaningful month for both the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and Dolly’s Dream 🤍

Each month, we proudly offer 10 free sterilization surgeries for pit bull–type dogs in our community—helping keep pets healthy and reduce overpopulation.

If you or someone you know has a pup in need of being spayed or neutered, please reach out to HSTB today to get on the schedule. Let’s continue showing up for these dogs and giving them the care they deserve 🐾❤️
