Our Guided Kayak Tours are beginner-friendly - but what does this really mean? 🛶

When you sign up for a Guided Kayak Tour at Greenwell, you’ll not only gain a comprehensive understanding of the basics of paddling, but the confidence that you can try new things–without judgement or fear.

We welcome ALL levels of kayaking–including zero experience. All tours begin with an on-land safety talk, followed by a tutorial of how to hold your paddle, the most used paddling maneuvers, and some tips on how to maintain your strength, and comfortability.

Our accessible launch makes it easy to get in and out of the water and our ACA-certified instructor is here to guide you through every step, launch, and paddle.

We are excited to announce our partnership with Sole Circle Events for their new run, the Harbor Heroes 5k/10k! 🇺🇸

This run along the National Harbor celebrates community while supporting and honoring veterans. Plus, a portion of the proceeds will go towards our Veteran & First Responder programs. After the run, on Nov. 8th, Sole Circle will be heading down to the Boots & BBQ Hoedown at Greenwell to provide a check presentation during the event. You won't want to miss it!

As summer winds down we want to thank everyone for another successful season of Greenwell Foundation Summer Camps! These photos show only a glimpse of all the adventures over the 6 weeks of fishing, horse, and nature camps. 🐴🎣🍃

We also want to give a special shout-out to our camp partners!
🌅 Hospice of St. Mary's Camp Sunrise for campers grieving a loss of a loved one
🎣2 days of fishing camps with Lucky and Blessed Fishing for campers of ALL abilities
🦀 St. Mary's River Watershed Association led all of our fishing campers through a reef ball building activity to help with restoring the Bay.

Finally thank you to all of the families for sending their kids to Greenwell for the summer! We loved seeing their new discoveries everyday, hearing about all the things they learned, watching their skills and confidence grow, seeing their new friendships, and of course all of the joy and laughter they brought to the park. Thanks for a great summer full of wonderful memories! ☀

A dream come true for all the wonderful organizations involved, and all of the campers! Just look at all of those smiling faces!

We really enjoyed hosting the campers for lunch and a Watershed Heroes session at the Lodge and an afternoon of fishing at the pier.

Seeing the campers excited to catch fish, make new friends, and learn about their local watershed was an incredible experience. Thank you Lucky and Blessed Fishing for letting us be a part of it! 💚💙🎣

It's been another amazing summer of Greenwell Summer Camps all thanks to our fantastic camp staff, counselors, camp buddies, and volunteers! ☀

From untangling fishing line to leading horses, teaching campers new skills to assisting with crafts, releasing fish, and even rescuing shoes from the mud- our camp staff and volunteers do it all! 😎

We are so proud of your work ethic, your leadership skills, and all you did to make camp safe and fun. Thank you for all that you did to teach our campers and help them make fun summer memories! 🎣🐴🍃🛶

Congratulations to our partner St. Mary's River Watershed Association for another successful summer of oyster restoration!

Our fishing campers had so much fun creating the reef balls while learning about oysters and their impact on the bay.

Launch from our accessible kayak launch and enjoy a 2hr guided paddle on the beautiful Patuxent River led by our ACA certified instructor. All experience and skill levels are welcome!

Take a leisurely paddle down the Patuxent River and explore right before sunset! With active wildlife, golden views, and cooler temperatures, this paddle is perfect time to relax and unwind.
