This strange UFO flew over my house from the direction of Mather AFB, hovered over my pool. Landed quietly.

If you look at his nose-you can see where the metal muzzle scarred him. All he needed was someone who was not afraid, cautious -but not afraid. Someone to trust him enough to go all in.

This dog is one of my favorite stories of any dog ever. He came from Mexico. He was trained to be aggressive. The metal muzzle literally scarred his nose. Took me several weeks for him to trust me. When I met with the owner, I looked away and he lunged to bite my face. I went a little at a time. Started by hand feeding him with bite gloves on. Then came the day -I took everything off and hand fed him.

Hot pavement can burn your dog's paws faster than you think.

It's up to you to keep them safe:
🚶 Walk in the early morning or after sunset.
💧 Bring plenty of water.
🥾 Get your dog comfortable wearing booties to protect their paw pads.
🧊 Pack cooling gear like a cooling vest, fan, or mister for warmer outings.
🏡 And on the hottest days, the safest place for your dog may be relaxing in the air conditioning.

When in doubt, place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your dog's paws. Stay cool and have a safe summer! ☀️
