U.S. Citizen Caught in Some Serious Monkey Business🚨

A USBP K-9 alert at the Javier Vega Jr. USBP checkpoint led agents to an unusual encounter: four spider monkeys stuffed inside a duffle bag.

The driver lacked documentation or vet records to establish ownership. The smuggled wildlife was turned over to USDA and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Has not passed, is proposed. It is connected to other bills. Would be updates to dog imports, including continuing the minimum age of entry as 6 months. Electronic documents, microchips, etc. Pets entering as "new" would be required to have a usda permit (they tried before but people weren't doing it) There's really nothing new here that wasn't the law 3 years ago, except electronic health certificates.
