Betty is one of my best moms. I can rely on her to raise great babies. I don’t use her much as a breeder anymore so she just does Betty things and raises babies. And you can hear Riggs in the background. I used totes this time around for broody serama mamas and they worked perfectly. I put the lid up and down like a cross so there is still ample circulation but it’s darker for them to rest and feel secure. WIN! Whose got some

My brand new baby was delivered this morning😍 While Jesse has made pretty much every coop we’ve ever had, this one will be finished by him and my wonderful father in law and ready to keep some of our more delicate birds warm this winter. No more crowing from house chickens keeping me up this winter 🥶 😆

Big Bad John here was enjoying seeing the grass this morning instead of that snow! I can’t get over how identical to his Dad he is😍Scallops our peg legged rooster is now living his best life on the hill with his own flock of ladies and has found his forever happy place at my in laws. He replaced their literally psychotic silkie rooster (yup, that one) and is enjoying life at slower pace. John here has earned his place in our bachelor coop and will return to be a resident yard rooster in the spring. Love having a great set of boys already set for the yard next year. 😍

Who’s been keeping track 🤦🏻‍♀️?! We are on our last week. And with Serama - that means literally any day! I find we start hatching around day 16, and I’ve had some hatch as late as day 23/24!

I think I’m just going to stop saying “last batch” because these heifers do what they want anyways! 😒

It all starts somewhere. Incase you didn’t know, I’ve been raising, riding and showing animals majority of my life. I’ve had a passion that has carried me to meet incredible people, work with magnificent animals and learn from wonderful vets. That passion has fueled me to be where I am now and with luck, even more capable for future endeavors. Seeing this photo made the 4 year old me proud to know, all the days, all the moments. All the animals. Brought me here. To The Funny Farm. In 2023 we decided to bring our daily life and our animals to social media. To share what we have always called our “Zen Den”
Here we are years later still doing what we do best🩷
