We couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the summer camp season than with the Intermediate Camp at Simmons Sport Horses! These older riders set individual riding goals that included jumping at the trot and at the canter, and they worked hard all week to reach those goals at our Friday Showcase. In the classroom, riders learned about the difference between hunters and jumpers, different types of jumps, and designed their own courses. Campers learned about uncommon facial markings and coat colors, breeds from around the world, and learned how to pull manes and clip horses. Campers also created horse shoe picture frames, clay horse ornaments, dream horses, and designed and built their own miniature dream barns. Riders did a fabulous job of taking care of their horses and cheering each other on as a team. Simmons Sport Horses would like to thank the campers, families, counselors, and the horses for another unforgettable summer of equine fun! A special thanks to Rachel Bolyard for her hard work and dedication as our head counselor for all three camps this summer!
