Verde
JC: El Viejo Verde
15.2h Liver Chestnut Gelding
Foal of 2012
$2500

Offered for your consideration is a lovely young OTTB that has just recently retired. Quite the athlete with a huge heart Verde hit the board 13 times out of his 34 starts. That's quite an accomplishment! And he just recently retired sound with no injuries. His connections report that he just started to slow down this meet and they wanted to find him a new career while he was still sound and had a lot of potential in front of him.
Verde is sired by Montbrook who is known for throwing incredible sport horse babies. Sweet Allie Marie is Verde's dam and her grandfather is the famous Nureyev who broke his leg and made a miraculous recovery to be breeding sound! He's got sport breeding and hardiness in him, a winning combo!
While Verde is a more petite dude standing 15.2 now, his body is wound tight from being racing fit; and I suspect as he lets down and gains top line as well as finishes growing he should top out around 16h.
Verde spent more than 24 hours on the van to get here and walked off cool and collected, walked right into his stall and began to munch hay. Within a week he had his teeth floated, shoes changed from plates to normal steel (front only) and all his shots caught up. He was a perfect gentleman for all of it.
Despite all the big changes in his life he got tacked up for his first ride the first week here and went around w/t/c with nothing short of a willing attitude. He has since had a few rides on him and is beginning to understand leg yielding, bending, and pace control. While he has been a completely willing participant in everything, he is still considered very green having only a few rides on him since his track life so he is not recommended for a beginner. However, Verde is very quiet and could be brought along easily by an advanced junior with a trainer. He naturally goes long and low and wants to understand self-carriage. He hasn't spooked at anything, even my very scary pinwheels on my jumps.
Verde is a complete sweetheart with a can do attitude and no known vices, injuries, or behavior issues. I can see him excelling in the hunter ring very soon. If he is the cutie you've been looking for to bring along consider coming to meet him!

Cody (JC Nasty Lewis)
16.1h (and big bodied) Bay Gelding
Foal of 2003
$3500
Covington, GA
Video: https://youtu.be/qvJE07NwsdI
Offered for your consideration is a lovely and well schooled OTTB ready to head straight to the shows. Lightly raced with only seven starts, Cody ran with so little interest that he never even broke his maiden and was retired sound in 2007.
Since then, Cody has performed the job of lesson horse, eventer, hunter, and jumper. Cody is now in search of his next rider and ready to go in any direction.
Cody has the long/low big flowy hunter movement and the jump style to match; but he is also very athletic and can maneuver the turns and speed in the jumpers. Cody is very brave to the jumps and all around not spooky. On the flat Cody is extremely well broke, goes in a frame, collects, auto clean lead changes, steps into the canter, lateral movements, etc. He is the most comfortable and fun ride to boot. He is a barn favorite and easy enough on the flat for an advanced beginner.
In the past Cody has been schooled up to 3' and has the scope to continue at that height, and although there are no known issues or injuries any horse campaigning at that height should be expected to receive routine maintenance.
On the ground Cody is a lovable and kind guy, easy to handle, clip, load, bathe, etc. Cody is a mild cribber but it is completely controlled with a collar. He currently doesn't wear the collar during turn out and would benefit from a situation where there is ample turn out provided.
If Cody sounds like your kind of guy please call or message me to set up a time to see him. PICTURES AND VIDEOS DO NOT DO HIM JUSTICE, he's a must see.
