Keep Them Safe: Update Your Pet's ID Before the Fireworks Start 🎆

Yesterday was , but the real test comes this week when Fourth of July fireworks light up the sky. Loud booms can panic even the calmest dogs and cats into bolting, right when our kennels are already full.

Why it Matters:
▪️U.S. shelters see a 30-60% spike in stray intakes between July 4-6.
▪️U.S. shelters take in an estimated 10 million lost pets every year.
▪️ Only 22% of dogs without microchips make it home, but 52%+ do when the chip is registered and up to date.

Firework Ready Checklist:
▪️Check the tag – legible name & current phone number.
▪️Scan the chip – most vets & pet stores do it free.
▪️Update your info – correct cell & address in the registry.
▪️Create a calm room – soft music, closed curtains, favorite toys.

Our Plea:
Every owned pet that comes in without ID takes space meant for animals with nowhere else to go. Help us keep families whole and leave room for those truly in need.
